[/QUOTE] Well, I’m certainly not going to start a Pit thread, but I’m not talking about you going out and making a special trip for it. I should hope you don’t make her go out for special trips when you need something. These are the times when I ask my SO to get them: 1. Cramps are so bad that it hurts too much to go out. 2. I’m running out or have run out and he’s going out _anyway_. 3. I can’t get to the store for whatever reason but he can. Otherwise it’s not like we’re both just sitting around at home and I ask him out of the blue to get me some tampons. So you’re saying if you two were at home and you decided to go to the grocery store to pick something up and she asked you to get some tampons, you’d say no? That I think is rude. ---

Definitely not going to even ask her to go get something I need, but am too lazy to get myself. If she’s dating me, she knows I don’t do tampons under ordinary circumstances, and is expected to plan accordingly. Such needs are easy to anticipate. ---

When I was a kid, I’d have rather chopped off my own head with a rusty dull butter knife then buy mom’s woma-stuff. As an adult? Not only would I go to the store shopping for tampons, but I’m just enough of an evil chauvinist misogynist asshole to corral the nearest female employee loitering near the feminine section and query her on it. “Should I get the turbo-applicator? Or should I get the mega-absorbant? What about the Ultra-inserter? Whatcha think? My friend’s about your height. How old are you?” I know there are about eleventy-billion women who are going to hate me, but this is revenge for that time mom gave me $10 and said, “get me some tampons.” Women have brought this on themselves. I kid, I kid. ---

My husband went to the store when I had a bad urinary tract infection\* and bought me a bottle of UriStat, an OTC painkiller for such situations until you can get to the doctor. When he returned home, he mentioned that a guy ahead of him in line laughed at seeing him buying this (“whipped” was the comment, I think), so he dressed the guy down verbally, saying obviously he couldn’t keep a woman long enough to realize that’s a kind and human thing to do for someone you care about. The guy skulked off, and the female cashier grinned and gave my husband a thumbs-up. ---

I just gotta hijack this thread for a moment, because it reminds me of the time I had to go purchase some birth control. At that time, I was using the contraceptive films, but on occasion, DH and I would use a condom, just so I’d get a break on the messy end of things. As it happened, we had run out of both films and condoms, and were low on KY as well. I had to fight laughter at what I imagined the cashier was thinking as she rang up a 24-count box of films, a 24-count box of condoms, and a large tube of KY. But that’s not the funny part. Oh, no, that’s NOT the funny part. The funny part is–I would soon discover that, at the time of this purchase, I was _already pregnant_! ---

A dour dwarf read the legend, and assumed the name for a bit, but EQ2 Druids just weren’t the same. Ended up playing a pally and a warlock instead, then left Norrath for Paragon City. Was really looking forward to Vanguard, until I learned they let SOE back into the picture. ---
