I’m a guy, and I would never voluntarily own anything pink. Probably some ingrained “manliness” nonsense, but for whatever reason I generally dislike the color red, and especially dislike pink. . ---

I wouldn’t mind, as my laptops tend to get covered in stickers and such pretty quickly. That pink would probably get some kind of paint job right off the bat, though. Actually, any really bright color (orange, pink, yellow) would probably get some sort of airbrush/stencil treatment. On the other hand, that laptop looks like ass. The pink screen/lid with the silver body just looks stupid, like they wanted to make everyone happy and instead wound up with a design disaster. “It should be all one color!” “But what if people don’t like that color?” “Ok, fine, we’ll make it half color, half boring as all hell.” “Perfect!” ---

Guy here. Of course I’d consider owning a pink laptop, the only question is at what price discount relative to the best price I could find on a more or less equivalent product. If I could get a $500 laptop for $200 because was pink, I’d grab it in a heartbeat. At $400, probably not; I’d rather just wait for this year’s $500 laptop to become next year’s $400 laptop than be able to buy that laptop in pink for $400 now. At no discount, forget it. ---

My brother (31 years old, straight) deliberately buys pink electronics/other things, because it pisses him off that men see this color as off-limits to them. He has a pink phone that the sales clerk tried to pass off to him as “light red” when presenting him with the color options – he said he bought that color on purpose and made sure the clerk knew he knew “light red” was bullshit. I’m sure if a pink laptop were offered to him, he’d take it. I (female) don’t buy pink electronics because I don’t care for pink. ---

I wouldn’t mind a pink exterior but I would dislike having that color right next to the screen. I would only want something neutral there. I’m a girl and I like the color pink. I hate that having pink things is some sort of political choice but what can you do. ---

Guy here. I _bought_ a pink laptop as a gift for my pink-loving daughter a couple of xmases ago. I would never buy one for myself, though. ---

Of course I would consider it, but ideally it would be cheaper than the equivalent. If for no other reason than I would cover it up. I’m also into the DIY/retro/steampunk look right now. I’d have no problem covering the device in, say, duct tape, if necessary. Now, if the keys were pink, that would be harder. But I’d still look into getting a replacement keyboard, and comparing the total cost of both parts with other devices. ---

I’m a guy and I think a pink laptop would be awesome. It wouldn’t be my first choice, but people might think you’re an outlaw, like you stole it out of some lady’s purse. Or that you’re so hip you don’t care what the square haircuts think, and anyway, you like pink and by liking it you’d set a precedent for the followers of your prescription for style, if style weren’t dead. ---
