H1B Visa Workers Used To Displace American Workers

Support for one’s own citizens at the expense of people who are worse off and true compassion certainly cannot co-exist in the same (non-hypocritical) person. Maybe if they’re not aware of the import of their support, but not after it has been pointed out. Not to mention that protectionism is the sort of support that isn’t actually support. It’s just damaging yourself and damaging the other.

College grads with 2.5 GPAs are still college grads, I suppose.

What I still can’t come up with is a “real world situation” where I’ve ever needed to use trig.

^^^ Yes, that. ^^^

I know this post is 3 months old, but I had to say: while this is true, the primary objective of American laws should be to protect and serve Americans, not people from other countries.

Yes, you can. I agree with Shagnasty. My compassion exists in concentric circles. I care vastly more about the interests of the American people than I do about people from the other side of the earth. If their countries are having problems, it’s up to them, not us, to fix them. And they’re free to do so, by other means than sending large swaths of their populations here.
