OK, After reading the PittFest thread, I’m a bit concerned. I’m a transplanted Chicagoan, now in Pitt (Senior in CS). Somehow, I thought I was the only Pitt person ever to lay eyes on the Straight Dope. Show of hands, how many Pitt people we got here? To make me believe you’re really here, and not just faking it (don’t know why you would), what do we chant in the fight song instead of V-I-C-T-O-R-Y? Even if you’ve never been to a football game, you should know this one. Also, name the truly sickening pizza place on Forbes. You know what I mean. ---

I grew up in da burgh and went to U of Pitt from 91-94 I never went to a football game, but you can only be referring to the O, the only place in town to get a $2.99 pizza and get shot in the head in under 8 minutes. ---

Heh… I’m CMU student, for god’s sake, we barely _have_ a football team. I haven’t the slightest clue what people chant, or whether we even have a fight song. We do have The Band Without Pants, though, do I get points for that? I did almost name my second cat Yinzer, though. ---

I go to U Pitt. I have no clue what anyone chants, it isn’t for nothing they tore down the stadium the year I got here. Hey, I live near the O. Wait…that is not a good thing. So, would you people show to a PittDopeFest? ---

That would be the correct response to #1. Strangely enough, seems more of the PSU knew it (but didn’t want to say) than Pitt people. ::sighs deeply:: My favorite anti-PSU slogan in the four years that I’ve been here: You can’t spell (insert synonym for “cat”, used grossly out of context) without PSU. Although I must admit, the Floating Lion drill your marching band does is REALLY cool, and I was a bit ashamed when we booed your band. ---

I have no problem with the O. I have a problem with eating the food there. That and there is only so much sub-par food one can survive. I have reached my limit already, that is bad…I have months to go before I get to cook for myself again. ---

I graduated from Pitt in, I think, '97. My memory must be going with my age, but '97 sounds right. Anyways, the O is alright. Their fries and hamburgers are ok, at least, but their pizza is truly bad. After eating a bunch of pizza from there my freshman year while living in the grain silo known as Tower B I got really tired of it though, and have only had it once or twice since then. ---

**People**!! The O is the center of the fry universe! God, I love the O. It’s just one big code violation. They took down the LCD board that did nothing but run a demo all day and night, but other than that, they haven’t done one thing to improve the decor, nor they should. No joke: when I went to Mr. Rilch’s dad’s second wedding, I stopped at the O on the way to the airport just so I could buy fries and take them back to LA. I kept the receipt; it’s transparent from being soaked in grease. “The O–You don’t want to live forever, do you?” ---

I would have gone to Pitt but the self requirement of bringing my own clown car and big floppy shoes stopped me.
