Hair Help: I Look Like a Clown

Personally, I wouldn’t wait. I’d be wanting to get it fixed quickly. I don’t think it’ll make a noticeable difference in the outcome.

shakes his head sadly I’ve had bad experiences, but I don’t think I could ever be satisfied to stop coloring my hair. There’s dangers, but it IS only hair, you know. A bad dye job isn’t the end of the world.

Aye, but it took me 2 years to get my hair the length it is and I don’t want to risk damaging it from any more screw-ups!

I have the semi-perm ash brown on my hair as we speak and it seems to be toning down some, yet still red (as expected). Thank you so much for your help! Should I expect the hideous-red to return at all and if so, any advice about what to do then? Perhaps reapply the semi-perm in another couple of weeks?

The semi-perm will fade, probably quite noticeably, over a few weeks. I think most of them say to reapply every four weeks or so, but they contain little to no ammonia, so you’re pretty safe to reapply them as soon as they start fading badly.

Good. I know I already said this, but thank you!! The last attempt was a success and I’m quite happy with it. (I just need to stop washing my hair, I guess  ) Can I bother you with another question? When can I use a permanent ash brown and just be done with dying for a while? (I know I said earlier that I don’t like dark, but this turned out pretty dark and I do in fact like it.)

One more thing: after doing my homework, I discovered that the first two permanent dyes contained niether bleach nor ammonia.
