_Stuttering Stanley! Stuttering Stanley! Stuttering Staaaaanley!!!_ What the fuck is Osment doing driving a Saturn? Unless he stole it for thrills, I can’t wrap my head around a former child star, presumably rich, gallivanting in one of these design disasters. ---

Hey, I feel the need to defend the Saturn. I drive a Saturn Ion (first car), and it’s lasted me quite well so far. Also, I think we discussed his car before, and it turned out it was his father’s car. At the time, everyone was tossing him kudos (not the snack) left and right for not being a rich bastard who has all sorts of luxury cars. I guess now he’s just a bastard. ---

[/QUOTE] It was his dad’s, and he got it as a hand-me-down. His parents are trying to not spoil the kid. Which apparently didn’t stop him from getting in stupid teenage trouble anyway. If it’s a first offense, I doubt he’ll actually do time. ---

I don’t buy that “high on life” jazz, and I’m glad to find out that Haley’s not afraid to step out of the mold and relinquish control a bit. I can’t cut him slack for driving drunk, but considering that he left a friend’s house just a few streets away from his own, he probably thought he was okay to make it that far. Stupid, yeah, but is everyone who posts to a “Crazy stuff you did when you were younger” thread a bastard? If he’d been belligerent with the first responders, or if this had happened after he’d been acting trashy at a club :cough:lindsaylohan:cough: I’d feel differently, but as it is, all I see is someone who did what many people his age do and have done. In the long run, I don’t think this will ruin his life. As said above, he’s a first offender, can afford the fine, and has plenty of people to vouch for his character. And he doesn’t have to carry that 24-karat halo into adulthood. He’s supposed to go to NYU in the fall, and this way, he won’t go through freshman week with people looking sideways at him, saying, “Oh, there’s Saint Haley Joel. We don’t wanna hang out with _him_; he’ll probably run to the RA if somebody pulls out a beer.” I don’t even think it’ll hurt him professionally, since he’s apparently able to keep his personal and professional life separate. I’m sorry he got in trouble with the law, and I hope he never ever drives under the influence again, but if this is what it took to get him down from that pedestal, and stop people from saying, “Oh, I thought he was still 12!” then so be it. ---

I’m guessing Osment’s weight at around 140, based on his age - he hasn’t filled out completely yet. If he was at his friend’s house for around 4 hours or so, and drank just over 1 martini an hour (that is, 5 in total), he’d be at about .15 That’s not unbelievable, really. I’ve done it. Of course, I know better than to try and drive even a few blocks, but then again I’m 31. I’m sure I did stupider things at 18.
