“Oh No. I really screwed up this time. This will not have a very good outcome,” he said, robotically, just before the giant screeching blades sucked him in and obliterated his body in an unholy blur of bone, entrails and blood.
Richard Nixon’s life flashes before your eyes – that’s how you know its really and truly the end.
Hopefully it’s the part where he’s having the orgies.
I think having Richard Nixon orgies going through your mind before you die is what hell is.
Oh, Oh! I got this one!
I’ve got this one all prepared, because during dozens of my arguments with the Campus Crusade people, I promised, cross-my-heart and hope – well… :o
In my very last seconds I will utter these words: Dear God of Adam and Abraham, I’m keeping a promise I made to several of your brainwashed minions and sincerely conver–
Wow! Five seconds isn’t enough.
To hell with me, then!
–G!
Then I’ll get on my knees and pray
We –
…–Pete Townshend (The Who)
…Won’t Get Fooled Again
…Who’s Next
[And even he couldn’t finish in 5 seconds!]:smack:
For Danny I would guess a spinning blade.
They won’t let us have yard darts anymore, but killer woodchippers and murderous snow blowers are ok?
Life isn’t fair.
I must hang with a rowdy crowd. We all have sets, polished and stored away in our sheds, seeing sunlight on Memorial Days and The Fourths.
Y’know, all youse guys, there are worse ways to die than this.
Maybe we should all hope to be so lucky.
Close my eyes, ('cause I don’t need to see that!), take a couple of deep breaths (passing into - whatever comes next, with a calm mind can’t hurt, in my opinion!)…and I think that’s all, times up!
I had the same thought when I laid mine down a couple years ago.
Close my eyes, ('cause I don’t need to see that!), take a couple of deep breaths (passing into - whatever comes next, with a calm mind can’t hurt, in my opinion!)…and I think that’s all, times up!
Tried looking up this incident, because it just doesn’t sound like anything more than an urban legend. No luck for that specific story, but did find a bunch of reports of several people getting killed by snow removal every few years. What the fuck, worst city services ever!
My closest experience to death (that I remember) was just an asthma attack, so that might sounds odd in this thread since asthma attacks usually take a while to come on, but occasionally they come on incredibly quickly and violently. This one did, and all I remember before I stopped remembering the incident but after I realised it might not end well was me trying to remember things, basically. I was trying to have the “things flashing before your eyes” be positive things just in case some version of my consciousness did carry on living in some form and the last bits it remembered were what it relived. Well, also because if you only have a tiny while to live it might as well be pleasant.
Obviously I did live, though I have no memories at all from losing consciousness till about a week later. But that’s what went through my mind, and that was with preparation because it’d happened before. I do the same whenever I have a bad asthma attack although fortunately none of them have ever been as bad as that one.
I’m posting this mainly because I like Charlie and think his threads are well-intentioned.
