I got the perimeter and the ends of the beams of the patio roof painted, which is all I intended to do. You all know I destroyed both of my knees in high school and the year after. Though I could jog after a fashion in the '90s, I haven’t had much exercise since I moved up here in 2003. I’ve lost the jogging muscles. More to the point, any activity that uses those muscles is difficult. It was a bit dicey climbing up to the top of the tall ladder. Someone sent me an offer for the watch. I haven’t decided yet if I’ll take it. ---

That was Yoshi and he’s bigger now, but still extremely fluffy. This is Akiko. She’s 2 now, and slightly more sedate. Howdy. Sigh. Hubby is down with his back. I mean really down and I am having to wait on him hand and foot. I don’t mind but it’s hard to be pleasant when he did this to himself trying to be fucking Superman. Of course it’s the weekend so the only option for healthcare is the ER. Nope won’t go. We are under a hurricane watch. Current forecast has it south of us which puts the dirty side on us. I have been told not to report for irk on Moanday but have to muster everyone everyday. I am almost to the breaking point. ---

Went to Walmart this morning – the paper towel section was empty except for three or four boxes of really cheap single rolls (remember the black-and-white “generic” labels from the '70s?) at one end and a few boxes of Kleenex at the other. Bought a few tins of assorted fruits and veggies to add to the stockpile. Lady SCAdian had a covid test this morning. Unlike the horror stories I’ve heard of the tester trying to dig your brains out with the swab, the nurse just handed her a swab and told her to rub it around the inside of each nostril 10-15 times. Didn’t say how long they expected the results to take. Rather decent weather the last few days. Possible rain tonight and tomorrow night. Someone always has it worse. That is really unbelievable and a first since records have been kept. Hubby has a spine Dr friend who he texted and he said he can see him Moanday in Fort Lauderdale or a colleague can see him here on Friday. A trip on Monday is probably out of the question what with a tropical storm. ---

Hey, y’all. Forgot my phone at home so no clandestine peeking at irk today. I haz much to catch up upon! Most important is deciding upon dinner. Leaning towards “brinner” (breakfast for dinner) since that would be easy, and I have eggs and a ham steak in the fridge, plus both bacon and waffles in the freezer. Oh, and an avocado!
