Deadcow has been lightly seasoned and wrapped in bacon. Corn has been shucked, trimmed, buttered, and wrapped in foil. Just have to light up the barbie in an hour and a half or so. ---

Have fun at Cedar Point **yank**! There and Kingā€™s Island were summer staples when I was growing up in Indiana. Itā€™s been a long time since Iā€™ve had seven layer salad **wet one**. I used to like it. **nellie** , boiled peanuts, when done right, are the consistency of an _al dente_ bean. My favorite are the Cajun or the sweet ones. One thing that I learned years ago though is, never, ever, ever give them to a little dog that youā€™re riding in a vehicle with. Your windows will be down for the duration. šŸ˜› Made a lot of progress on the project, got the breakfasts / lunches prepped for the irk week and made a good pot of Italian wedding soup. Iā€™ll take Nelson out for the last time ~eight before the firecrackers start. ---

Howdy Yā€™all! We ate. We drank. We made merry. It was a fun day all in all. Everyone has been gone for a little over an hour, all is cleanded up, and the biiiiiiiiig trash can has been hauled all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow. There are varied leftovers, so no cookinā€™ will be needed for at least a couple of days. That is not a complaint, btw. We had the Cajun style boiled peanuts today which are spicy, but not too spicy and go oh so well with beerverages. ---

Went out in the MGB again. (I went out earlier.) Just donā€™t feel like hanging around the house. Got five gallons of 92 Octane ($30), then went down to Beach Cat Brewery and bought a four-pack each of Shabby Tabby IPA (6.4 ABV) and Munchkin Red (5.4% ABV). ---

Evening all. Finishing my Big Bowl Oā€™Sallit for dinner, then will try to call Brudder (have been getting his message the last couple of times). Did get some paperwork done for the next February Antarctica trip, still need a Doctorā€™s signature on some paperwork but with 7 months to go, I think I have time to get it done. Dusk is about an hour away and itā€™s all quiet on the Fireworks Front, but I expect it to pick up soon. **swampy** , glad you had a good day. **FCM** , nice to meet the boat neighbors; but why bring a Mercedes to a boat dock for a wash? I would think the proximity to salt water/air would be something youā€™d want to avoidā€¦ **BBBoo** , kids are great, arenā€™t they? And youā€™re pretty special too, making that platelet donation. OK, need to power up the cell phone and see if I can get through to Brudder this time. All yā€™all take care. ---

**Shoe** , I _love_ your tat!! As long as weā€™re sharingā€¦ **Mrs W** has three tattoos, and she got them all within the last ten years. The first is a 1ā€ yin-yang on the inside of her wrist. The second is a small set of cat whiskers around one of her ankles (this is in honor of all our kitties, past and present). The third, which is my favorite, is a beautiful hummingbird on the back of her left shoulder. Each time she got a tattoo, she tried to get me to get one too. My standard answer was ā€œIā€™m not against getting a tattoo, but thereā€™s nothing I want badly enough to have it on my body for the rest of my life.ā€ Then she came up with this idea, and I realized I didnā€™t want _a_ tattoo, I wanted _this_ tattoo. So I got my first (and probably only) ink at the ripe old age of 54. You canā€™t rally tell from the photo, but this is my outer left calf. (S is my first initial.) People had restraint, and didnā€™t start their fireworks till after dark this year. Had burgers, fries, and corn on the cob(on the cob!) for dinner, with an Old Fashioned. Love the tat, shoe. ---

The gym was sparsely populated because only us crazies work out on July 4th. I had a good workout. My son called, since he missed yesterday. Heā€™s coming down in one week. Iā€™m very excited. Iā€™m planning to make chicken salad and buy some decent Italian bread. I will also make lemon cupcakes in honor of his birthday (this Wednesday). That and mixed berries will be dessert. Thanks for the replies re: boiled peanuts. I think Iā€™ll pass. Peanuts are the only legume I like, and I donā€™t want to ruin our tenuous relationship. Glad you like them, though, swampy and red. **Boo** , good for you for donating blood. Iā€™ve always wanted to, but they donā€™t want mine. And yay for Harrietā€™s wonderful recognition of her BFF, Gramma Boo. (How did she get to be FIVE already?) ---
