No, from your article…

The amount of deferred compensation received by the Vice President is fixed and is not affected by Halliburton’s current economic performance or earnings in any way.

You advocate the elimination of trial, do you? Hell, forget the trial. There’s nothing there to even indict upon. The article linked says that Cheney stepped down in 2000 and yet the bribes were paid in 2001 & 2002. Cheney’s responsible? How Stalin-esque of you.

Which disqualifies, umm, everyone with a job. Or on welfare. Or Social Security recipients and people living off their investments. Looks like the country’s gonna be run by twelve year olds to lazy to mow lawns or get a paper route. Great fucking idea, Diogenes.

I’m sure if Halliburton went the way of all flesh it would have an effect on the Veep’s compensation. Still, the point remains that like Caeser’s wife the Veep should not only be above reproach, he should _appear_ above reproach.

What else would you have him do?

He sold all his Halliburton stock.
He put the rest of his holdings in a blind trust.

How can you insinuate he’s not being above reproach in this matter when the bribes were paid by some entry level manager one and two years after he left? He had control over that how?
