They are as much a part of our moral values and civil law as they are part of any specific church or religious doctrine. Therefore the Republican Party believes the Ten Commandments should be on display along with other great documents of our society wherever appropriate in schools, courtrooms, and public places.

> …No, the Republican Party isn’t perfect, and its members don’t always live up to the highest standards of conduct. But at least they recognize that there are – or should be – standards of conduct that are worthy of aspiration. And that’s just one more reason that, despite its manifold shortcomings, the Republican Party is not only “old” – it’s “grand,” too.

We could, of course, play this all night long – finding Republicans who believe they have a monopoly on morality is like finding leaves in a forest. But hey, just for fun, right? 😉

> You find me an executive with ethics (regardless of their political affiliation) and I’ll show you the first person “downsized.”

The founders are often exceptions. Halliburton wasn’t always a greedy money-grubbing corporation. Its founder, Erle Palmer Halliburton, didn’t think much of FDR, but the day after Pearl Harbor, he called the President and placed the company at his disposal. (It was a much smaller company then.) A half million dollars worth of new tools were paid for out of company funds. Even his yacht was converted for war-time use.

He started life dirt poor in rural West Tennessee.

Do executives just get greedier the further removed they are from ever having lived in poverty?

Isn’t anyone motivated by service and quality and creativity?

Fair enough. I hadn’t heard any Republicans making that claim lately, so I was curious as to whether or not they still were. Apparently they are. Ya learn something new here every day.

Wasn’t that fun? 😃

President Bush will continue to build alliances, and work with America’s friends for the cause of security and peace. But he will never turn over America’s national security decisions to leaders of other countries.

I think it’s cool, the way he refers to himself as “President Bush.”

Are you sure he’s not talking about his dad?

But that would make _no sense at all_!

Do they call each other “Mr. President” at family gatherings?

No, they just chew bananas, grunt, and pick fleas out of each other’s coats.

Don’t get too excited, **Squink** , he was probably just reading the teleprompter and failed to edit.
