My receptionist just came by to reprimand me for not joining the others at the Halloween party. She’s dressed like a fairy, only no wings. May she’s being Tatiana? Being much dumpier than the receptionist, I’m dressed at a telecommuter (bathrobe and slippers). Did anybody else have to dress up for the office today? ---

I came dressed as an anime otaku. Platform sneakers, frayed bellbottomed jeans, black t-shirt with obscure logo, leopard print arm warmers and a Genki bunny hat. Not that this was a real stretch from my day to day stuff, but the hat seemed to really set them off… ---

Usually our whole office gets very into dressing up for Halloween, but this year only a handful of people really made any effort. My supervisor is dressed as Elle Woods, and looks _awesome_! She’s a small blonde, and the costume just looks great on her. It’s completely different from her normal jeans-and-Birkenstocks look, too. 🙂 One of the other writers is Little Bo Peep (very cute), and another is wearing a home-made “spaghetti and meatballs” costume that people keep having trouble figuring out. One of the graphic artists came as a “dark angel,” dressed very goth with a pair of black wings. She looks great, and reminds me of Pauley Perette’s character on NCIS. 🙂 Most of the testers dressed up: there are a gangsta, two witches, a sorceress, and a geisha. My costume is a bit of a company in-joke: my supervisor earned her doctorate in May, so I’m wearing a doctor getup and a long blonde wig and my name tag says her last name. It made a lot of people laugh, including my supervisor, so it was almost worth wearing the itchy, hot wig. _{grin}_ I took the wig and lab coat off in order to get some work done, but I might have to put it on again…there might be a special happy hour in 30 minutes, I’m not sure. Pictures have already been taken, and I’m dying to see how they turn out! ---

We only do it if Halloween falls on a workday. So I won’t get a chance this year to wear a costume to work ☹ ---

I dressed up as Elektra Natchios from _Daredevil_. I had a black leather outfit (OK, it was vinyl, but it looked like leather) and twirled a set of 19-inch sais. My coworkers were impressed. A little frightened, maybe, but impressed. 🙂 ---

At my boyfriend’s workplace, each department has a theme and everyone dresses up according to that, then all the departments compete against each other over who has the best theme (and executes it the best). His group’s theme: celebrity mugshots. At my workplace, I never see anyone dress up. ---

I threw on a old monster mask that I bought a few Halloweens ago (and saved just so I’d have something in a pinch). I wanted to do SOMETHING, but I didn’t want to spend any money. ---

Dressing up would be distracting to my patients, but I did risk some spiderweb tights 🙂 . What I saw on the street today: a female cowboy, an Indian, a Musketeer (nice!), a subtle devil (horns and tail only), Snow White (male) and my favorite, a tarted-up nun on a motorcycle. These were all grown-ups. I just love Halloween. I wish people wore costumes all the time if they felt like it, like the little girls in princess outfits at the grocery store. The people in the counsel’s office came dressed as sharks. That was funny. Some lady, who was quite good looking and with curves in all the right places, dressed up as Little Red Riding Hood. I gave her a big ol’ smile, because if I opened my mouth, I’d’ve been in a peck o’ trouble.
