You could do the Exorcist music from Mike Oldfield’s “Tubular Bells”, but it’s not particularly spooky. A brief clip of the Addams’ Family theme would be good. ---

Huh, I was sure that the OP, or at least the first respondent, would have mentioned Bach’s _Toccata and Fugue in D Minor_. ---

[Gris Gris](http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/6598757/143_grisgris), the first album by Dr John the Night Tripper (aka Mack Rebennack), will creep you right out. And you can dance to it! Not specific to the season, but definitely otherworldly. I received the LP as a gift on Halloween of 1968… “[Werewolf](http://www.rhapsody.com/the-holy-modal-rounders/moray-eels-eat-the-holy-modal-rounders)”–from the _The Moray Eels Eat the Holy Modal Rounders_ will bring goosebumps. Toss in Donovan’s “Season of the Witch” while you’re at it… ---

I made myself a last.fm playlist a couple of weeks ago. I don’t think you can actually listen to a playlist unless you are a subscriber, but you can see what’s on it, and you might be able to stream individual songs I think. Lots of horror punk, horror surf, stuff like that. A mixed bag though, some chosen just for their names, lots of movie names or theme songs, and a few spooky sounds thrown in for fun. See the list here - [Ghoulish Grooves](http://www.last.fm/user/psycat_90/library/playlists/3g3mp_ghoulish_grooves) My favorite time of year! I’m a huge Misfits, Cramps, and HorrorPops fan as it is. Messer Chups and Fantomas are pretty awesome too. [Next page](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/halloween-music/514819.md?page=2)
