“Graveyard” by Trip Shakespeare
“Wicked Annabella” by the Kinks
“Shadow of Fear” by Madness
and since FilmGeek mentioned Danny Elfman, there’s gotta be something by Oingo Boingo—maybe “Dead Man’s Party”?

I’d have to say pretty much everything recorded by Bauhaus and the Cramps. Ditto for the Misfits up to Glenn Danzig’s departure. Of course, if your audience is children or people who don’t like atonal noise and rockabilly songs about necrophilia, maybe you’ll be better off sticking to Bobby “Boris” Pickett (“The Monster Mash”). The artists I’ve suggested, while all wonderful, may be a little much for folks who only do the whole horror thing in late October rather than year-round.

And that particular Toccata and Fugue in D Minor is probably the famous one by Bach (JS). Camille Saint-Saens’ “Danse Macabre” is good, too.

Woe and alas! What has Western Civilization devolved to when ancient religious songs (and some of them blatantly Christian) are lumped in with Halloweeny mood music?

Now, I’ll grant you that certain chants, because of their melodic construction (in a minor chord, e.g.) or their topic matter (prayers for the dead) may fit the bill. But be wary of casting too wide a net.

Peace.

Well, one might argue that Halloween got its beginnings from religious ceremonies honoring the dead.

Of course, one would do that in Great Debates, not in Cafe Society.

I learned a different set of (not copyrighted, I trust!) lyrics to that tune:

“Have you seen the ghost of Tom?
Eyes bulged out and nose too long
With big ugly teeth and a shiny white chin
Only one cheek to keep his tongue in”

Not specifically Halloween-themed, but possibly relevant:
