It has been. Unfortunately, Hamas leadership has been hiding in tunnels beneath Gaza for the past year, so getting to them has not been easy. I wonder if we’ll ever know what caused Sinwar to finally pop his head out.
The thing about Sinwar is, he was, if anything, a serious fucking psycho. So who knows what kind of death wishes he had? Maybe someone will tell the story.
He was apparently trying to leave Gaza. He was killed in disguise, with the equivalent of $10,000 in Israeli money and a fake UNRWA ID on him. So, perhaps, he wasn’t as happy to die for the cause as he’d like you to believe.
Truly a fitting end. Reminiscent of Jefferson Davis fleeing in a dress.
What’s hilarious are the idiots on Twitter who try to portray him as heroic, going down fighting. Sure, buddy; he threw a stick at a drone on his way out of the country he fucked up so thoroughly; that makes him a “hero”…
Did he die from wounds after throwing the stick, or was he shot shortly thereafter?
He was killed shortly thereafter. I’m not sure if it was by gunshot or an artillery strike.
Artillery strike.
The video Darren_Garrison linked to says they dropped a round on the building after he was spotted inside.
Autopsy says he was killed by a gunshot to the head.
I wonder if he was found alive by an IDF guy who’s sister was raped on October 7.
There is a pretty detailed Reddit thread on the incident here:
One of the most interesting tidbits in that thread is that there is an apparently famous photo of him sitting in a different comfy chair in bombed out rubble from three years ago.
(He seemed to be enjoying it more that time.)
We need like buttons.
Heard an interesting point today: apparently the “All Eyes on Rafah” thing was about telling us where to look for Sinwar all along…
