Regarding this [column](http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/639/why-does-putting-someones-hand-in-warm-water-make-them-go-to-the-bathroom), the Mythbusters tested this in their Mini-Myth episode, and couldn’t get it to work reliably, so they declared it busted. So when Cecil says

We didn’t need the Mythbusters to know that Cecil was right when he said the effectiveness was debatable. It’s been debated for decades.
