I registered in March 2000 and noticed that **handy** had more posts than anyone. I made a post which stated that he had over 10,000 and of course I was quickly reprimanded by many dopers, including {b]handy\*\*. You would have thought it was like mentioning a no-hitter in the ninth inning. :eek: **DDG** is very close, but her daily posts lag slightly behind **handy** ’s. I feel like I live on the boards and my average per day in only half of their’s.

why were you reprimanded for stating they had huge post counts?
and im not a baseball fan, so can you explain your analogy?

I don’t know how it applies to post counts, but in baseball, you’re not supposed to talk about a pitcher throwing a perfect game (or a no-hitter), because if you do, it will cause a run of bad luck (or, more likely, make the pitcher nervous enough to lose his concentration) and spoil the perfect game before it can be completed.
Again, I have no idea how this would apply to posting, unless you believe that talking about post counts will cause another board crash.

Heck, when Ryan was pitching everytime he had a no-hitter going no one would even **sit** near him in the dugout or talk to him at all much less just avoiding the subject of the gamei n progress.

Having a lot of posts is cool, but frankly I can’t think of one advantage of having the most posts. It’s like King of the Mountain here or something 🙂
