You did such a great job on that HTML tutorial. Maybe you could take over for Show\_Biz on the " **Don’t forget the link. Here’s how to post one, Part Next** thread. I see some people have hinted for revisions and he hasn’t bit. Maybe got tired of it. (I’d help, but I don’t get some of the details, eve when I try quoting.) ---

Bilder: HTML is turned off, so we can’t use that to create colored text. At the time that that thread was created, it was still turned on. Currently, aside from links, we’re restricted to Model T colors (any that you like, as long as it’s black). ---

Make that TWO colors. Just type [[sub][/sub]url=""] in front and behind to turn it blue. It’s not hard, and it’s not a **link** , really, is what Show\_Biz found out in his thread. ---

No, I didn’t bother opening the designated links because it seemed to me that **Saint Joan’s** question could have been interpreted in a different way, and that **Tuba** might have failed to see this (I didn’t see that **Louie** had addressed her question at all, in either interpretation) and in my haste to possibly assist a newbie, I didn’t bother to click on any links. Sorry. ---

Okay, I want to lodge a complaint against all you goofballs using URL code to make blue text. 1. It isn’t blue - it defaults to the SDMB main page, which is purple if you have accessed that page recently. Ergo, if you’re trying for blue it isn’t necessarily that color. 2. It looks like a link. Because that’s what it is, it’s just an undesignated link to the default page. Therefore, it’s pointless and annoying. 3. Did I mention it’s annoying? Oh yeah, and **it’s annoying**. 4. And I really hate to have to point this out, but **IT’S ANNOYING!!!** So I think you see my point. ---

I like it. And I think people, like Irishman, who come to complain about other posters who are finding fun things to do and harming no-one are _really annoying_. So I think you see my point. ---

OK, sure, I’ll lay off Irishman. This is a new rule here, I take it? I seem to recall hundreds of threads that got hot here and then moved to the Pit. I thought that’s what Irishman had in mind. I noticed that the same day TVeblen came up with “2. You have a wife? Human? Animate?” Sounds insulting to me. I also have to wonder why you didn’t complain that he was calling people goofballs. ---

😕 And why would they do that? Just so that we have one less way to highlight text? Because you don’t think you would ever use it? And doing so would make everyone mad because they could no longer see links. Not a very attractive plan. (Not that anything surprises me any more around here.) ---
