# Happy Absinthe Day!

Today, March 5, is [National Absinthe Day](https://nationaltoday.com/national-absinthe-day/).

So, here is a link to some [Absinthe cocktails](https://www.diffordsguide.com/encyclopedia/1617/cocktails/absinthe-cocktails). The list doesn’t even include a [Sazerac](https://www.liquor.com/recipes/sazerac/).

I’ll be making a Sazerac, and the Absinthe Frappe because I have a nice pastis that will give it an incredible colour. I also love mules so the Bohemian Mule might get a taste as well.

Which is sad, considering today is also Mardi Gras this year.

A little bit of absinthe is a nice touch in a Manhattan.

It’s also good in an Old Fashioned, although that’s essentially a Sazerac, if you use rye whiskey for your Old Fashioned.

Personally, I think if I end up making anything, it’ll be a [Dr. Funk](http://www.tikiroom.com/tikicentral/bb/viewtopic.php?topic=29020&forum=10). It’s the only tiki drink that’s actually tropical in origin, believe it or not.
