Pucker up and blow you know, to whistle the theme song _I’m just a girl who loves Andy!_ It’s Andy Griffith day. Or the day in the 60s?? the series was launched. My favorite character was always Otis. I loved the Darlings. Aunt Bea just cracked me up. Yep. Happy ANDY day! My favorite. ---

Why do people set up Mayberry as some sort of ideal of American life? That place was absolutely horrible. All of the plots in every episode are based on the people there being obnoxious, stupid, or (usually) both. ---

Other than some rare reoccurring characters, Otis was the only person in B&W Mayberry that was married. Andy, Barney, Floyd, Aunt Bee, Thelma Lou, Helen, Gomer, Goober, Briscoe, Ernest T., Ellie… All Single ---

Pretty sure Mayor Stoner was married. But yeah, the ratio of unmarried to married is attention-getting. And, of course, there was Juanita, never seen on camera but frequently called on the phone by Barney. ---

I love the ep where there’s a constantly arguing married couple who Andy decides to counsel. It goes about like you’d expect. Come to find out they enjoyed bickering with each other. ---
