It’s weirdly fabulous. I am home with a cold, and I swear, it’s the first thing that made me smile all day. I mean, who thought of that pairing and that song? ---

My favorite Dolly performance, doing “Jolene” in London: [![](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/j1ma8G57Ajc/hqdefault.jpg "Dolly Parton - Jolene live in London") ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1ma8G57Ajc) Mainly for the banter before the song, thanking the audience for spending their money: “It takes all I make to keep up my appearance. You’d be amazed at the price of industrial bras these days … and how much money it can really take to make a person look so cheap!” ---

Jolene, by a long shot. Gives me a chance to repeat my grandfather’s favourite joke. “Dolly? She’s got her knockers but I like her” boom tish… [Previous page](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/happy-birthday-dolly-parton/647714.md?page=1)
