Today is the birthday of one of my most favoritest artists, Paul Gauguin.

I adore him. I’ve been meaning to purchase a couple prints. His colors are just…so…perfect. I actually feel warm and peaceful when I look at his paintings. Yup…he’s one of my all-time favorites.

Ah, good, yet another opportunity to recommend a novel I just loved to pieces: Vargas-Llosa’s \*[Way to Paradise\*](http://www.amazon.com/Way-Paradise-Mario-Vargas-Llosa/dp/B000BZ6UQW/ref=sr_1_1/104-2350472-2067151?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1181231592&sr=8-1), which tells the stories of Gauguin and his rabble-rousing socialist grandmother in alternating chapters.
