Hmmm, either the board is hinky tonight or I posted a “happy birthday” to Poly to entirely the wrong thread.

And it was really eloquent, too; celebrating the fact that **Polycarp** is here and we’re fortunate enough to know him.

It expressed gratitude for Poly’s life and presence, and disdained shallow celebrations dependent on homemade birthday cakes, especially those with generous slatherings of buttercream frosting.

Okay, there was a mention or two about _sharing_ said birthday cake with close, Doper friends–if such a cake happened to exist.

Hungry, hopeful–but mostly glad Poly’s around,
