[NOT doing a Monroe voice]Happy birthday, Mr. President.[/anti-MM] I guess I have another hour or two to figure out what the best Obama-related snack or pastry is. A black and white cookie feels a little stupid. By the way it’s apparently Louis Armstrong’s birthday as well. This puts August 4 in the running for coolest possible birth date. ---

Happy Birthday, Mr. President ! I hope you have a sweet one, with your good gal family around you, laughs and smiles as you give a good wish on 48 candles. Same age as me, coming up soon, and, same bellwether issues. Whoever figgered we’d get this far? Time has come. I hope that the duress is given at least 10 minutes of time of silly birthday stuff with Malia and Sasha. Happy Birthday, Barack, born in the fringes of the USA, and the best example of why we include it all. ---

He’s not the [only](http://gawker.com/5330020/obama-gives-helen-thomas-cupcakes-for-her-birthday) person in the White House who celebrated a birthday yesterday. For what it’s worth, Thomas began her journalism career in 1943, has been working in the White House press room for longer than Obama has been alive…and is still there, going strong.
