That’s right – twenty-two years ago today, the world was blessed with the presence of our very own **Simetra**. I hope you’ll all join me in wishing Stephen the happiest of birthdays. Rather than playing around with words and trying to capture the eloquence that other Dopers have displayed when making this sort of announcement, I’ll just come out and say something that I’ve been bursting to tell everyone in the world: I’m completely, head-over-heels, crazy in love with Stephen. The fabulously mind-boggling thing is that he seems to be equally enamored of me. :sigh: I get butterflies just thinking about it. Since it’s my sweetie’s birthday, I’m going to do a little stream-of-thought gushing over a few things I adore about him. (Yeah, I know… Don’t worry, I’ll be handing out insulin to anyone who needs it.) He has the most beautiful voice – very passionate, very lyrical – and every night he sings me lullabies and songs he’s written. He reads poetry to me, both famous verses and ones of his own creation. He constantly makes me laugh; the thought of him always brings the warmest of smiles to my face. When I need to cry, he sits on the other end of the phoneline, whispering soothing words. He quiets my fears and calms my insecurities. He pays me compliments in French which I certainly don’t deserve. He shares his daydreams with me and is always willing to listen to mine. He fills these little empty places in my heart that I never before knew existed. He makes the cutest sighing noises when he stretches. He’s heartbreakingly attractive. He indulges my ridiculous hypothetical questions. (“Dearest, would you still love me if I was four feet tall, had a hunchback, and there were oozing, festering boils on my face?”) He put up with a mini-phone conversation with my insane sister. He teases me when I refuse to sing. He’s incredibly devoted to his family and friends. He’s always honest. He’s one of the most talented people I know. Astoundingly enough, he thinks I’m beautiful. He sent me an Air Force T-shirt with his cologne on it that I wear to bed every night. I can talk to him for hours on end about every topic imaginable. He makes me happy in a way no one else can. He’s wonderful. He’s amazing. He’s _Stephen_ – you can’t get any better than that. 🙂 Happy birthday, my darling one. I love you. ---

Hmm. Not sure how I feel about this whole love thing between the two of you… I mean, did either of you think to consult me? I’ve had a raging crush on Simetra since day one, but do I get MY opinion asked on these matters? Noooo… of course not. Who will post to my poor lonely threads now? _sniffle_ Aww shucks, I can’t even pretend. Serendipity, you couldn’t ask for a more wonderful guy. Now, normally this ushy-gushy romantic stuff just makes me break out in hives, but having met the lovely miss **Serendipity** and come to the conclusion that she is an utter sweetie, I don’t mind so much in this case. Forgive my ineloquence, but when it comes to Jessica, the hardest thing to do is find all the right words to describe how passionately I truly love and care about her. I’ve been thinking of what to say all morning, and nothing seems exactly right. So, I’ll just say this: I’m the most blessed man in the world, and the happiest because of her love. I’ve never known anyone like her, and I never will again. I love her and she’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me. She listens to me, and cares about me. She has the most compassionate and genuinely kind soul. She makes me laugh, and warms my heart. Calms my soul, quiets my fears, and just the thought of her gives me butterflies all over. I can’t even begin to tell you how beautiful she is to me, and how her voice makes me melt. She’s deliciously cute, amazingly pretty, and so incredibly attractive. She’s the most deserving of any compliment I could ever give her… in any language. I love her, with everything that I am. Thank you so much everyone, for all the warm wishes and for telling me happy birthday. This is the best birthday I’ve ever had, and I couldn’t think of a better gift than the perfect words of and a kiss from my dearest. I’m so glad that I get to see her soon, and can get the latter part of that gift. Mmmm… there are those butterflies again. 🙂 Thank you all so very very much, especially for putting up with me being so mushy. 😉 And even though I hardly ever give board hugs… I can’t resist this time, (((((((((((Arden, Wolf, Robyn, Rasa, dpr, Trip, Falc, Geobabe))))))))))) Jessica, thank you for making this the best birthday I’ve ever had, and also, for just being you.
