You say it’s your birthday? It’s my birthday, too, yeah! I am officially in the last year of my thirties. If you can believe that shit. It’s crazy how life just keeps going and you get old and stuff. Why, it was just yesterday that I was wearing my fluorescent sweater and leggings and legwarmers and listening to “You spin me right round, baby, right round”. Wow. Next year could be very, very depressing, so I’m celebrating this last time of being able to say, “Well, at least I’m not 40.” And how bad would it suck if this thread got no replies? Verily, it would suck bad. So wish me a happy birthday already. ---

Thank you so much! Getting older is something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately. I’m not so sure I like it. But then the alternative’s not all that great, either. It’s just something I’m really going to have to process and work through in the next year or so. Things change for women on many levels as they age, and that’s really started to bother me lately, but fortunately I do have the strength and wisdom that I did not have at 25. Now I can go to bed. I have to be up very soon, but at least I can look forward to a pineapple upside down cake at work. 🙂 ---
