50 years old this weekend. Well, the _name_ is, anyway. Fred Morrison’s “Pluto Platter” had been around since the early '50s. Wham-O re-named them after the pie tins that people had been throwing around at Yale. I can’t tell you how many hours of fun I’ve had playing disc golf, ultimate, double-disc court, freestyle and simple games of catch (and fetch!). Our culture celebrates ball-centric games to a huge degree, but it’s a known fact that when balls dream, they dream of being Frisbees.
