# Happy First Day of Spring!

Back around 2000 I took a trip to London in March. I was coming from DC, where it was still cold and nothing was looking like spring yet. After a lifetime of hearing how awful the weather in London is, I dressed warm, let’s say.

So we get there and there are crocuses and daffadils blooming everywhere. The weather was… kinda balmy. Walking around town I noticed a lot of businesses had potted palms outside. Palms? Outside? In March?

After that I decided to quit listening to Londoners bitch about the weather. “Ooh, ooh, a slight chill! The weather sucks!”
