Thanks, Canadians! We’ll still be pals long after “the current troubles” are over. I’m flying a huge flag from 1958 stretched out sideways on our front porch. Think about 1958… it’s the one from the house I grew up in… before Hawaii or Alaska were states. It’s fun to see people admiring a giant obviously-vintage flag, and then some of them notice that all the stars line up (in a grid of 6x8). ---

Best wishes, y’all!\* Current tribulations won’t destroy decades of friendship. As our PM says, at some point, economic rationality will return. In the meantime, I’ll hoist a pint to you tonight. - did I get that right? If not, I’m sorry! 😉 ---

Had some spaghetti and meat balls, a piece of barbecued chicken, and garlic bread. The neighbors lit up the neighborhood. Scared the cockatiels but now they’re back to being their normal obnoxious selves. ---

The extra stars are just a dimensional thing, sorry they don’t add up to 50. I thought I had too much time on my hands, who bothers to count the characters in an ASCII art post? [Next page](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/happy-fourth-of-july/817272.md?page=2)
