If I go to hell, I will spend my time doing mortgage stuff. It’s like taxes but worse. I also asked the design center added the closet organizer back to the master closet in the new house. The price was very reasonable and I think it will be very nice to have. In celebration of being done with mortgage stuff, I have opened a Blind Pig IPA from Russian River Brewing Company. The plan is to have salmon with pesto butter and some steak for dinner, with rice or mashed potatoes (depending on the diner) and broccoli. ---

**wordy** , the story behind _missred_ was once upon a time, I got up to leave for work, but neither of my vehicles would start. I called a friend of mine (6’5", solid muscle, long hair, beard and a voice like Bob Seger with a cold) and he swung by on his hog named Mabel (after his mama) and a guest helmet to take me to work. Well, the folks who I worked with always saw me as a somewhat quiet, schoolteacherish type, so this was a surprise to them. One of my cow-orkers made the remark _Boy, have I mis-read you_. Given my red hair (at the time), it stuck and I used it as a handle online for several chatrooms and message boards. Nelson passed his checkup with flying colors, but I need to schedule him for a teeth cleaning. Those have gone up $100+ since his last one. 😮 I’m waiting for the next storm to come again and hope that it won’t be storming when Nelson needs to go out again. ---

Evening all in Puget Sound heading north. It was a bit of an adventure this morning, first I had trouble with the wi-fi in hooking up with Uber, and then the driver went the wrong direction away from us (my pal and roomie Chip was with me) and finally cancelled as his GPS was broken. Lucky for us there was a yellow cab right there at the hotel, so we grabbed it and got to the port on-time… And then the real fun started. They had had me fill in a health check on-line on the 5th, and while I had said no to most everything I did mention I had a cough (you’re in the Northwest in rain and 50F temperatures, you might cough now and then). To the cruise folks, this meant an interview with a nurse (I think she was a nurse) and then ANOTHER COVID test, which they said would take 20 minutes but took an hour. Fortunately, I was in the early boarding so Chip and I were on-board by 1:15pm, plenty of time to get to our room…and find the keys didn’t work. The room steward let us put our carry-ons inside, then we ate and got new keys…that also didn’t work. So back down to Customer Relations, had them make a third set, because third times the charm, right? Nope, still couldn’t get in. So I’m in the room now while Chip is out taking pictures. Will be calling Guest relations myself with several comments in a bit. At least lunch was filling and good, but dinner won’t be until 8:30pm (our cruise planner is a saint, but he likes eating real late…). At least the Wi-fi is free and reasonably fast. Ok, enough whining, I’m on a ship and heading away from worries with a lot of friends I haven’t seen in many a year, so all in all I’ll put up with the headaches. **talkie** , there is/was a Science Fiction writer named Harry Harrison who wrote a series of SF Humor novels featuring a future-age crook/rogue named James Bolivar “Slippery Jim” DeGriz, who was known by the Moniker “The Stainless Steel Rat”. So that is where mine came from. **red** , good news on Nelson. **FCM** , cute pictures, either from you or other Grandma. **flyboy** , quite an adventure with the MG, hope it stays running good for you. **Rebo** , best wishes for your grandkids…as you close by? **Cookie** , that’s a good idea on the house; I may have to pull my records and do something similar (one of these days…) **Oopsie** , {{hugs}} in memory of your Mom. OK, need to yell at the people and get them to quit messing around with our keys and let us get in and out like people do. All y’all take care. ---

By that time I was so sick of sitting in front of a computer that I took about a year long break from doing anything but checking my email every couple of days. Once I was able to form a new relationship with my computer screen, I followed @Seanette here from [Customers Suck](https://www.customerssuck.com/board/) cause she had mentioned there were some nice folks. I didn’t want to use Slave because that part of my life was over, but I couldn’t find a way to use Magenta (my Rocky Horror persona-unseen but I see all) without making it unusable for me, so went for Jane Doe because it’s almost the same if you are really stoned and frustrated. By the time I was signed up here and the board moved to Discord, it was too much bother for the mods to change my name to Slave and there was still the Magenta name issue. I’m pretty happy with **Jane the Cane** , so I guess that’s going to stick 🙂 (About that, the abusive jerk did get bailed out and is going through Anger Management classes which his Public Defender is hoping will show that he’s trying to change. The victim who had changed jobs and moved towns once before said something like FTS and moved out of state. I kinda liked her better before she got brainwashed into not killing people all the time but she was still pretty amazing afterwards. We’ve been getting lots of rain. I hope it doesn’t wash all my grass seed and clover seed away. **FCD** said there were t-boomers and lightning overnight - I slept thru it all. I’ve been going crazy trying to find the garage door clicker from my car (I know I took it out before we turned it over to the body shop.) Then last night, I thought it might be in **FCD** ’s passenger side door pocket, so I need to ask my daughter to look, since she has his car. I hope it is there - a replacement will cost $31!!! Yoiks!! I’ve got a little time to kill till I have to pack sammiches for today. Apart from the nearby restaurants being stupid $$$, it’ll likely be raining, and who needs that?? So we’ll sit in the classroom and brown bag it. Getting closer to the drive to Indy - I am so dreading the long ride back, listening to the same stories over and over again. I sure hope they sleep a lot. Onward. Happy Saturday!! ---

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. _YAWN_ ‘Tis 62 Amurrkin out and N.O.S., with a predicted high of 85 and N.O.S. for the day. This mornin’ I must betake myself over to the church house to deal with candles and make the dreaded run to 😲Wally\*World 😲. After that, I foresee some quality cee-mint pond time and nappage. Sup shall be burgers 'n fixin’s with fries. I know it is a shock, but I am, in fact, gay. I wasn’t sure for a while but what with OYKW bein’ gay and all, and the fact that we do ummm… gay men stuff to each other, I concluded that I must be gay as well. Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack, and bother of bothers I suppose I shall purtify and don acceptable bein’ amongst the public attire. Life is so hard! Miss their brunch - that was amazing. Yesterday was the first dinner with coworkers since Before. We used to get together every other month for wine, nibbles, and then dinner at a restaurant. Nice to get back to socializing, now that more people are in the office. This morning we went to the garden store and bought some bulbs, plants, etc. Then I had to go to the grocery store, make lunch, and now that part’s done, so it’s raining. Might not get the plants in the planters and bulbs in the ground today. We thought we might want to take a short walk. The last few weeks were getting a bit crazy, so we need to get into a new routine. Until it clears up a bit, we will neither go for a walk or work on the plants. So there will be some slothage.
