Oh, and a darned shame GISMYS’s account and thread in GD both got deleted late last night. Clearly, I am a Prophet of God, since I told him quite clearly that he would be banned. For those of you who missed it, it was another one of those people who thinks “debate” is simply posting bible verses in ALL CAPS and saying everyone else is a sinner who is going to hell. Capped with a little bit of persecution complex and claims of satanic influence for people who mocked him. ---

I subscribed to it for the anticipated humour value (the fact that I consider www . godhatesfags . com [most emphatically NSFW] funny as well might give you some idea of my sense of humour 😃 ). I would have enjoyed reading it. ---

Oh, and I took [my niece to the indoor range with her new bow](http://i1284.photobucket.com/albums/a562/ChimeraPic/a6ad30fc6d740dac17f7e894bcdf8319_zps7197f68c.jpg). We had a lot of fun. (Yes, she needs to keep her finger off the arrow, but one thing at a time. First she needs to work out keeping the arrow in place.) Range guy was nice to her, but tells her to shoot at the target on her left and then turns to me and asks if she understands what he’s saying. :mad: I simply nodded and said “oh yes”, but I think he grokked that he had overstepped, because he suddenly found other things to do and left the other guy to taking care of the range. And they wanted $10 apiece to string my 2 recurve bows for me. Um, no, it takes me 3 seconds to do it and I’ve owned these bows for 37 years, so no I don’t want to pay you $20. ---

I might have been a little snarky about the [decimate](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decimation_(Roman_army))/[devastate](http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/devastate) thing. He couldn’t have been more gracious in his reply. He apologized, agreed that _everyone_ knows the difference, thanked me for pointing it out, asked specific questions about which book I had so he could be sure that later printings were fixed. I really felt like a jerk for getting snarky. Worse part is that he also offered to send me a signed copy of the corrected book to replace my spoiled one. I should know better than to get snarky in print with a wordsmith. :smack: ---

(in it’s eyes) Yeah. :rolleyes: I think the problem is that we can’t free-feed our cats (have food available to them at all times) anymore due to one of them having a weight problem. The fat one is all right, and never tries to go into the garbage, but the badly-behaved thinner one is angry, and is constantly begging (and hunting) for food all the time. In this case, the game hen was one that we’d already eaten most of, and the cat decided it was still good. I even tried pouring orange juice on it in the garbage because cats are supposed to hate the smell of oranges, but it didn’t discourage the cat. The next time I have some sort of meat for supper, I’ll try to remember to take out the garbage right after throwing away the remainders of the meal, so the damn cat won’t go in the garbage. ---
