[/QUOTE] Just remember to check the status now and then. Our phones “forget” to go back to the home wifi now and then and need to be reminded of the preferred behavior. Similarly, you can rummage around in Facebook’s settings to tell it to only auto-play videos if on a wifi connection so someone’s cat vids aren’t eating up your data allowance. ---

The extra flavor is nice but mostly because a long slow smoke has the opposite effect in ground meat as most meats - instead of more tender, it gets more firm. Makes for a nice solid burger to nuke at lunch or meatloaf to cut deli style for sandwiches but doesn’t totally dry it out. _ **Happy Birthday, Baker!!** _ And at the risk of being called a jack-boot-licker: _ **Happy Birthday, twicks!!** _ We’re ending the year on a decidedly brisk note - it was 20° when I let the dog out this morning. _ **brrrrrrrrrr** _ In a fit of productivity, I finally loaded last night’s dishes into the dishwasher, and it’s midway thru its cycle. Yay for clean dishes! And last night I finished another lap robe. I’ll assemble the remaining 16 squares today. I’m pretty sure I have enough black yarn to finish it off. \*\*FCD \*\*thinks he’ll be home early today. He said most of his coworkers are planning to leave around noon, so we shall see. Our big plans tonight will be pretty much like every night - watch TV, then to bed, probably long before midnight. That’s how we roll. 😃 Happy Last Wednesday of 2014!! ---

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. _YAWN_ 'Tis 51 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 57 for the day. Rain on tap for Firday however. I took a melatonin and was asleep around eight last night. I pulled an all nighter. Didn’t get up even once to pee. 😃 Tonight I get to cook collards and black-eyed peas. The veggie black-eyed peas, not the band, just so **flytrap** does not get confused. First I have to look over the black-eyed peas, then soak 'em, then cook 'em in the slow cooker on low overnight. The collards don’t take a real long time to cook but I like to cook ‘em the night before and heat ‘em up just before chow time. They’re better that way. I shall also make up the squish casserole and have it ready to bake in the mornin’. I was goin’ to make a pound cake but a friend volunteered to bake one and she’s really good at it, so I’m glad for that. Oh and I shall make some deviled aigs, because, hey, deviled aigs! That is how I do NYE. And now this… \*\* HAAAPPPYYY BIIIRRRTTTHHHDDDAAAYYY TOOOOOO YOUUUUUU!!! HAAAPPPYYY BIIIRRRTTTHHHDDDAAAYYY TOOOOOO YOUUUUUU!!! Then I _did_ know where the spare key was. Also, the bathroom is in the floor lobby area, but someone just showed me a (gender neutral) handicapped loo in our secure area that I didn’t know about. I _can_ make it thru the day. Thought I might have to go all the way back to my car for a bit. ---

Thank you all for the birthday wishes. I need a little pick my up like that. As a Christian Christmas is always special, but it was kind of gloomy this year as it was the first since my dad was killed. If you want to do something for others, don’t ever put a CD in your player while driving. If someone hadn’t been doing that, I’d probably still have a father. Now, I’ll be spending part of the day out, but not much. Got to tend to the Death Pool you know. So far ther are 115 entries, down a bit from last year, but players tend to wait until the last minute to make entries. I’ll start drinking that bottle of champagne about 8:00PM, four hours before the deadline!!! My typing shouldn’t get too erratic on just one, should it? FCM, apple cake sounds nummy! I’m going to be eatting cheese and crackers. Anyone ever had a Norwegian cheese called Gjetost? Try it, you’ll thank me for it. ---
