People are fucking stupid. No, you don’t know someone else’s kids better than they do.
I was once in a movie based on a Chick Tract.
Being an actor in a movie for a day was pretty fun!
It’s a dad joke turned into a whole character.
I also feel like it was an attempt to turn a potentially scary thing (Count Dracula) into something so dorky that it couldn’t possibly frighten a child.
Just wanted to say I’m glad you implied this was one of the more acceptable responses, because I don’t know a whole lot about autism, but reading your post leading up to that point, it was all I could think about. Looks like you’re doing all the right things and hopefully won’t need to make big lifestyle changes in the event of that diagnosis. But it should help you get any additional support you all need.
There are old traditions stating that vampires are compelled to count things. One way to escape them is to strew beans or peas behind you. The vampire will be compelled to count them all before resuming the chase.
I want to rant against my daughter, who surprised us all with a PUPPY, OMG, A PUPPY, and how cute is she??
Except the puppy was meant to be a bit of a nudge for my grandie, aged 13, and a bit disconnected with everything. Of course, the pup didn’t ‘do’ it really, so…puppy is my responsibility now.
I cook the rice and chicken and veggies, I feed the baby, I take her down for wee drops and poops between 5 am and 2 pm, and even after then! I clean any accidents that happen (only rarely on my watch) but still, the responsibility is mine. AND I DIDN’T ASK FOR A FUCKEN PUPPY. But fuck, she is dead-set cute, and smart, and I really like her lots.
I don’t do pics because I’m dumb, but if you could picture a red-nosed Staffy, crossed with a Rhodesian Ridgeback, then you will get a gist of our youngster.
Still pissed off that she’s been dumped on me. However much I love the little twat.
I am told that puppies are the worst. Hopefully she’ll grow into a nice little dog soon.
I am of the firm belief that everyone in a household should be on the same page regarding a pet before the pet is brought into the home.
Message from the pharmacy. Surprise! My prescription for Vyvanse, which I get filled every fucking month, is delayed yet again. This has been going on for at least a year. I’m a socially anxious, conflict-averse person. It takes a lot for me to call. I called. I explained that this keeps happening every month, and that every month I have to go through withdrawal waiting for the script to be filled. She told me, not very nicely, that there was nothing they could do, but that I should call a week before I need the scrip filled and see if they can get it in stock sooner. But no guarantees. Then she hung up on me without saying goodbye.
My advice:
A. Report the bitch to her management. That “couldn’t give less of a (bleep) about a patient’s medical needs” attitude means she’s in the WRONG line of work.
B. Switch pharmacies. If they’re this much of an unreliable mess, they evidently don’t care to keep customers, and you need a pharmacy that’ll get you your meds on time and minus the rotten staff attitude.
curses to my trailer park cousin who came over to do laundry and got me interested in "desperate housewives " yeah it’s trash but at least its sort of parody trash …
I’ve broken the days of our lives habit my mom gave me and don’t watch pro wrestling anymore but now I gotta see how some of this ends
I had a similar issue with a prescription for omeprazole. They had trouble filling it, then there was confusion about whether my insurance would cover it or not, and so on.
Luckily it’s available over the counter, and I can buy it from Amazon cheaper than it cost as a prescription, even when insurance paid for most of it. And Amazon will deliver it regularly right to my door on schedule.
It sucks that you can’t get that with prescription-only drugs.
I want to switch pharmacies, I really do. It’s going to be such a pain in the ass. This one is super close to my house. And the medication in question is a stimulant for the treatment of ADHD, which is strictly regulated, so I’m not positive the situation would improve somewhere else. They might at least be nicer about it, though.
Have you thought of trying Med Express? They mail everything straight to your house, after clearing your Rx with your doctor. You can get 30 or 90 day scrips filled.
My mom called me today freaking out. She is my grandma’s sole caretaker. Grandma has dementia or Alzheimer’s or some such, I don’t know that it’s been officially diagnosed. Anyway, Grandma has developed this rash. Mom’s taken her to her general practicioner as well as a dermatologist, both of whom prescribed the same cream. But after more than a month, the rash is still spreading and looks horrific. The skin looks burned and Mom says if you wipe over it, it comes off in rolls. Mom’s at her wit’s end, and thinking maybe Grandma needs to be hospitalized. After seeing some pictures, I’m inclined to agree (not least because Mom can’t go on like this). She’s got a call in to the GP’s nurse…my husband thought maybe they should go to the ER, but how long can a dementia patient endure the waiting room? I hope that nurse has some answers, I don’t know what to tell her.
