# Happy now Clothahump?

I don’t believe you’re that insane to think that a word’s “true definition” is retained when it is adopted into another language than its original language. What you are now doing is compounding what can only be an intentional lie. If you have, in fact, lived in the United States for any appreciable time, then you would know that particular word is offensive _in English_.
Before this thread, I actually respected you as far as your posts on this board are concerned. Now I know with no doubt whatsoever that you are a bigot and a liar. Well done.
Actually, I hope that you manage to dissuade all of us from that appraisal of you. I fear that it will be a long and tough road for you, though.

Oh yeah please excuse me for not making the distinction in my mind. Because the English translation of the word differs from the Spanish meaning that makes me a liar?
The only English that I have heard or used today, yesterday or for the past few weeks has been on this board. The last time I had a brief conversation in English was to help an elderly grin…oops, American pay for a purchase at a local supermarket.

If your government actually cared for it’s citizens, then they would do something about the flood that is coming _illegally_ and _unwelcomed_ accross the border. It would attempt to creat a hospitable living environment for it’s own people instead of forcing them to rik their lives to go to an unwelcoming foreign country. Your country has a dismal growth rate, a dismal unemplyment rate, and an adysmal number living in poverty.
Millions of Mexicans are here legally. They are more than welcome. We want them to prosper and have the same opportunities and quality of life as all Americans can have. We

Personally, I do not find the term Gringo offensive, although I perceive that sometimes (like when CBEscapee uses it in this tread) it is meant that way. To me it’s on par with the term Canuck when refering to Canadians. I learned long ago that racial epiteths say absolutely nothing about me and everything about the person hurling them. You can’t give offense when I refuse to take it. Let’s see - numerous summers spent with relations in Mexico, not living in a tourist resort, but in cities and towns. A semester in college spent building homes as a missionary project, a six month stay to care for a cousins kids while we watched her die of cancer. I’ve lived in mexico, I’ve lived here. Here wins. Put it this way, if this country is so fucked up by comparison, why do so many mexicans risk so much to get here?

I lived along the border for several years and regularly went across into Mexico. FTR, my impression of the Mexican police is that throwing a rock at one of them would quite likely cost you your life.
