Title says it all.

_Blessed Cecilia, appear in visions
To all musicians, appear and inspire:
Translated Daughter, come down and startle
Composing mortals with immortal fire._

- W. H. Auden

To all who haven’t heard it, I recommend Britten’s setting of that poem. It’s really pretty cool (but not easy to sing).

I still maintain that the song is about inspiration, and only the more cynical among us think it’s about sex. 😛

Beat to it by Galena!

_Cecilia, I’m down on my knees
I’m begging you please to come home_

We sang for Saint Caecilia’s feast day at mass this morning.

My choir is scheduled to perform that work on 22 November next year.
