# Happy St Swithun's Day

Or maybe it should be Swithin, whatever.

[St Swithun’s Day](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swithun#Proverb) is sort of a British Groundhog Day, only without the animal cruelty. Which means it doesn’t get near the press coverage. Supposedly, if it rains on July 15, there’ll be 40 days of rain.[sup]1[/sup] Someone needs to make a movie or something.

[sup]1[/sup] If it doesn’t rain on Swithun’s Day, they’ll still get 6 more weeks of rain, but they won’t be able to blame the saint for it.

You forgot the time zone- posted 3:03am BST (British summer time). It was already the 16th here in the UK 😉

Didn’t rain here yesterday; we’ve barely had a drop in about a month, so we need it, but it looks like we’re finally going to get some rain today.

Yeah. Meant to post earlier, but forgot. It was still the 15th here when I posted though.

I think it’s supposed to be at his church, but they probably didn’t get any either.
