OH OH OH - I remembered what I wanted to bitch about - every winter I’m reminded that Apple with their iTouch and iPod screens are prejudiced against Canadians - you can’t operate a touch screen with mittens on. But hey! Only $100 for a pair of gloves that can be used with an iTouch! Jerks. ---

It snowed yesterday. My prediction was off by 4 days. Everyone that I paid off was gloating and rubbing it in. I called M for sympathy and he said “What’s the point in winning if you can’t rub it in?” I can sure feel the love! Somehow, I ended up with more kittens yesterday. Tries to look innocent, “Gosh, how did that carrier end up in my car?” My resident cats have learned to roll their eyes. ---

OH LORD ON HIGH IT’S FUCKING COLD OUT THERE Fire alarm goes off at fucking midnight, so I’m just in thin PJs. I grab a hoodie on the way out, not having taken out my winter coat yet, and lo and behold FIRST SNOW OF THE WINTER. In good news, the fire was contained quickly and we got back inside within 10 minutes. Oh, and only about 5 of us would have survived, since no one else in the building evacuated. ---

And if they don’t work? Well, that’s why it’s Dollarama! 😉 ---

Neighbours had a birthday party last night. Normally, we can’t hear anything from their house, but they had the music turned up so loud, my bed was practically vibrating. My housemate had to work this morning, so, after basically being told to fuck off by someone when she went and asked them to turn it down, at about 1am phoned the city’s noise complaints hotline. Apparently they were nice and sympathetic, and said they’d send someone round. Great. Half an hour later, they phone back, and tell her ‘Yep, we sent someone round, it was very loud! So yes, we’ve registered your complaint. What? Ask them to turn it down? Oh no, that’s against policy.’ I’m seriously tempted to phone again this morning and register a formal complaint about their uselessness- I heard several other neighbours going round and asking them to turn the noise down, and they were just refusing. They finally turned off their shitty music at 7.30 this morning- and at 9.45am, workmen started digging up the street outside. Oh, and my leg/back’s so painful this morning that I don’t think I’ll be making it out the house today- was going to go to a firework display tonight, but I don’t think I can face it, unless it gets better through the day, rather than worse like it’s done every other day. I also should do my washing, but that involves going down the road to the laundrette, and I can barely stand, let alone carry a big bag of clothes. Today is not a good day. ---

Noisy neighbors suck, Filbert. I hope you feel better soon. It’s not quite three in the morning here and I’ve been up for 45 minutes already. My sleep pattern is so out of whack. I get about four hours of sleep a night these days. ugh, that makes for a long day with not much energy to do anything and I have so much to do. ---

So far as I’m aware, the noise control people _are_ the cops. Just the local nuisance variant, not the emergency number. Plus, by the time we knew they were useless, it was 2am, and my housemate figured they wouldn’t be going much longer. Wrong, but they’ve never gone on that late before. I wasn’t calling anyone, 'cos my back’s been totally seizing up at night, and it’s both very slow and excruciatingly painful to get it moving enough to get to the phone; so for me, the noise was- just- the lesser of 2 evils. ---

When your turn comes don’t be holding your breath expecting my wife to kill herself to spend every possible last moment with you. ---

This was the only one left who accepts Tenncare and had an opening for a new patient. And a happy update today! Walgreens called to let me know my prescription for Zoloft (generic) was approved. They just needed something called “prior authorization” because they only normally cover 150 mg a day and he wanted me on 200. Of course I was only to start at 25 mg but whatever! I gots my pills! Now let’s just see if they work. The Zyrtec stuff was horrible. It didn’t make me less anxious, it just made me feel thick headed the next day. I happened to have an allergy attack today and it didn’t do a damned thing to help that either. ---

Staying at my sister’s house watching her dog and our parent’s dog while they’re all in France. Was originally thinking that since I had today and tomorrow off, I would pretty much close up like I was going to work and spend the time at my own apartment cleaning up and packing away the cat stuff. But I couldn’t sleep for shit between the two dogs being a pain in the ass, the stress and everything. Went grocery shopping and went to my apartment and found that I didn’t want to be there. My parent’s dog is good, but my sister’s dog is a pain in the ass. Had to shove him off me like 8-10 times today because he keeps trying to hump various parts of me, and keep having to knock him off my parents dog for the same reason. Have to put them out separately because of it too. Now I’m using her laptop and about every 30 seconds, the cursor jumps around to somewhere else or the page scrolls down. Nothing I hate worse than a computer that won’t fucking stay on the screen and the spot where I’m trying to work. ---

Another update: They apparently only approve up to 100 mg on Tenncare so that’s what they gave me. I don’t get it. The doctor wants me on 200 but the insurance won’t pay for that, but they won’t let ME pay for the difference. I was told that was against the rules. ---

My panic levels are at defcon 3 right now. For those who get upset at people using initials for people, M=Merlin, the online name I met. Don’t judge by that, read the David Weber books to get the inspiration for his name. His rl name is Bill. Today is the one year anniversary of Bill’s wife of 32 years death. Bill has been ignoring my emails and didn’t answer his phone. On Tuesday, I’m going to let someone cut my foot up. I have new kittens that will need to be cared for. My resident cats are not happy about the kittens, but its too cold to leave them in the kitty house. Lucky just gorged kibble and puked it up. Tony’s septic tank is full and he doesn’t have the money to get it pumped. I offered to lend him the money to him, but he’s going to do his thing until he has to admit defeat. At least he has a porta potty across the street. Oh, and his gf who only shows up at the beginning of the month (when he has money) doesn’t even give him a blowjob or a kiss on the lips before she runs away with Tony’s money.
