I started a thread about a year ago asking what should get the “Complete” treatment, and _Calvin and Hobbes_ was at the top of the list. I’ll have this pre-ordered as soon as it’s possible. So we’ve got _The Far Side_, _Peanuts_ coming out in 25 two-year volumes, and now _Calvin and Hobbes_. I’m ready for some _Dick Tracy_, _Alley Oop_, _Pogo_ and for God’s sake, let’s get the _Krazy Kat_ dailies in a systematic, from the beginning reprint. ---

But I already _have_ the complete **Calvin & Hobbes** – all the color super-deluxe reprints, plus “Attack of the Deranged Mutant Snow Goons,” plus the 10th anniversary collection! That’s _gotta_ be complete, ainnit? I couldn’t get that link to work, so I went to Amazon and that’s what they’re charging for it. That’s hardcover and they don’t have it in yet, but yes, $94.50 is what they quoted. ---

If you can, hold off on buying it. The Complete Far Side is now down to an incredible $67.50 on Amazon (50% off). I wish I had waited instead of paying about $100 for it… ---

Each of the three horror comics _Tales From the Crypt__The Vault of Horror_ and _The Haunt of Fear_ got its own deluxe boxed set of hardcover books reprinting all of the original issues. The artwork is in black and white, photographed fromt he original artwork, _not_ from existing issues (this is important–take a look at the Lil Abner _Frazetta Sundays_ and you’ll see how poor the artwork looks if it’s reproduced from color print). They also reprinted the lesser known books–_Two Fisted Tales_ and _Frontline Combat_, _Weird Fantasy_, _Weird Science_, _Weird Science-Fantasy_, _Shock Suspenstories_, and the crime books. There’s also a set of “annuals” which are huge squarebound softcover comics that reprint 5 issues per volume. ---

Much as I _love_ Calvin and Hobbes . . . given that I already own a copy of every Calvin and Hobbes book ever printed prior to this one (and thus, every Calvin and Hobbes strip ever printed), I’m going to have a pretty hard time justifying the expense to myself. I don’t suppose Watterson decided to add any new artwork (as he did for some of the books), did he? ---
