If Trump loses in November, there is going to be a severe allergy to a senior citizen national office candidates going forward. Also, the idea that the same party could occupy the White House for what would be sixteen years in a row (Biden-Harris-Harris-Walz) is a bit implausible. Walz is the veep candidate, not the future of the party. ---

Pondering how the VP will be as a President eight years down the road is definitely premature. But we should still ponder how they’ll be as a President, because the whole point of the VP position is that it’s always a possibility that they might be. Yeah, Harris probably has another couple of decades in her… probably. But she could get hit by a meteor or something on the day after the inauguration. Or tomorrow. That’s why we have VPs. ---

I like Walz as the choice. And I agree his age in 8 years is irrelevant. Harris’s pick was all about 2024, not some future election. I was watching in the run up to the announcement and Trump was attacking Kamala by saying any of these guys would be a better President than her. Countdown to Trump dashboard saying Walz is a horrible choice and is totally unqualified in 5, 4, 3… And hey, the Republicans want a wall on the southern border, maybe Harris can give them Walz. ---
