Boy, that’s a good observation. I wonder if because of his Italian-sounding name he though he could get away with it.

He probably hangs out with his Italian posse, throwing out OUR words, as if it’s OK. “What’s up, my wop!” “Guinea please!” They might tolerate it, but I bet inside their rage burns.

😛😛😛 Jeez, this isn’t even the pot calling the kettle black. (After all, the kettle **is** black.) This is the pot calling the kettle a pot. You are not only stupid, **clothahump,** you are a sorry, lazy coward. When are you even going to try to back up your fatuous drive-by in the GD minimum-wage thread?

You know, it occurs to me that on any given day I could be driving on the 610 Loop and right there, two lanes over, the scowling guy with a buzz cut, in the dented black Chevy pickup plastered with “W” stickers, could be very well be **Clothahump**.

**FinnAgain** , Forgive me for taking so long to respond to your post. Life had called. But before I respond I’d like to thank you for such a lengthy body of lies to work with.

Since it already was goinfg to take so long to reveal your many lies for what they are, I didn’t want to waste more of my time by using clever insults on you. So, I’ve settled on one.

While this decision was originally born out of respect of my own time, in hindsight I thiink it has a great advantage. The one thing repeated over and over my eventually sink in through layers and layer of dishonesty and self-deception. If not, I think it my serve as an easy chant for observers of your dishonesty to remember you by.

Here you go, you lying, dishonest piece of shit.

> [@FinnAgain](#):
>
> First you accuse the posters in this thread of supporting or allowing folks ‘shitting on America’, then you backpeddle and claim you were just asking an innocent question.

Confusing grammar aside, you are liar. Plus you put words in my mouth in order to then claim the I was lying. You are a dishonest piece of shit.

> [@FinnAgain](#):
>
> You say Bush isn’t beyond criticism, but then backpeddle and say that it’s irresponsible to criticize Bush. Etc…

Another lie. You still haven’t shown that I’ve backpedaled. I asked you nicely to point it out and you were unable to, yet you continue with your little chant. Perfect activity for a dishonest piecce of shit like you.

> [@FinnAgain](#):
>
> And that is, again, a lie and backpeddling. You did not ask some innocent question. And if you really think that people will believe that you did, you’re dumber than I thought.

I asked a question, as you might identify my the little curly thing at the end of the sentence. Could it also be seen as an accusation, absolutely. But you keep trying to imply that my defense is that it was just and “innocent” question. I never tried to characterize it as such. Only you have done so, you dishonest pice of shit.

> [@FinnAgain](#):
>
> Jeez, you’re dense. Get this through your skull: I understand that’s what you see it as. But it’s wrong and stupid to see it that way. Can you finally understand that having an opinion doesn’t make it correct?

Print out these words here, stand in front of a mirror and read them aloud. Just be sure to end the passage with "you lying, dishonest piece of shit, **Finnagain**.

> [@FinnAgain](#):
>
> **You are entitled to your own opinions, not your own facts.**
> Tatoo it on your forehead.

See mirror instructions above. And this time you can also add, “and try to be original **Finnagain** , you dishonest piece of shit.”

> [@FinnAgain](#):
>
> Why is it that someone with a bankrupt argument almost always falls back on “Oh, you just don’t understand what I’m saying?” Is your paucity of logical points somehow justification for believing you?

No, I usually say someone doesn’t understand what I’m saying when they have demonstrated that they don’t undertand what I am saying, as your previous posts have. My usual course of action is then to accurately convey my thoughts to them. I see that you prefer to simply hurl invective, but hey it takes all kinds—even lying, dishonest pieces of shit like you.

> [@FinnAgain](#):
>
> Bush and America are only strongly linked to the extent that Bush is seen as acting with the support of the American people. Something, by the way, which your inane and asinine rhetoric helps ensure. But that is certainly not the case in the real world as to any but the wilfully ignorant it is clear that Bush has opposition stateside.

And your point is… MY point was that I didn’t think it was appropriate for an American celebrity to criticize America or Bush while overseas. Of course Bush has opposition stateside. That has nothing to do with what I’ve said.

I can’t see any blatant dishonesty in the passage above. But that does not change the fact that you have already shown yourself to be a lying piece of shit.

> [@FinnAgain](#):
>
> I already did. You are, still, either wilfully ignorant or painfully stupid. Your oh-so-innocent question implied that ‘us clowns’ supported or encouraged ‘shitting on America’. That’s a strawman.

You’re also a dumb fuck. You claim that my _opinion_, which sees Bush and America as being more tightly linked than you do is a strawman?! Then you re-erect your strawman of claiming that I have attempted to characterize my question/accusation as being “oh-so-innocent”, so then you can criticize it.

You scarecrow, are a dishonest, lying piece of shit.

> [@FinnAgain](#):
>
> You’re lying. I have done so, several times. You’re just wilfully ignorant. Not my problem, I’m afraid.

You’re lying. And ignorant. The willfully part I won’t jump to, as I sense some retardation, for which you should not be held responsible.

> [@FinnAgain](#):
>
> Again, you lie. You have claimed that instead of accusing people, via a question, of supporting and allowing America being shitted on , you were simply asking an innocent question. This is, by the way, another example of you backpeddling. One which I’m sure you’ll wilfully ignore, yet again.

AGAIN, you dishonest fuck. Didn’t you’re mother teach you not to lie? Or was she the one who passed on the retardation, you lying piece of shit.

> [@FinnAgain](#):
>
> Wrong. I should care about what facts you present or the strength of your arguments. I couldn’t care less what your opinions are, you petulant child.

Ah semantic bullshit and evasion. Opinions are offered as arguments, which then are supported by facts and logic. Go hide under your bed you dishonest piece of shit.

> [@FinnAgain](#):
>
> YI’ve already refuted your position, several times. You’re too damn dense or willfully ignorant or just too much of a plain old liar to admit when you’ve been proven wrong. You’re also an arrogant petulant brat. I understand perfectly what your position is, it takes no great mental exercise, I’ll tell you that much. And it’s a painfully stupid position, to boot.

You’ve refuted shit you dishonest piece of the same. You came in and started—wrongly I thought at first, but now it is clear that is was dishonest—accusing me of backpedaling. I was sincerely surprised by the accusation (since I hadn’t) and asked you nicely for clarification, more then once. But you wanted no dialogue you wanted to hurl shit. And were, and are, willing to lie and mischaracterize what I’ve said to do so. And that makes you…RIGHT! A lying, dishonest piece of shit.

> [@FinnAgain](#):
>
> Well then you wilfully ignorant intellectually dishonest shill, why haven’t you gotten it into your noggin by now?

Ahhh, “shill”. Now we get to the bottom of you swamp-filled cranium. How dare someone be of an opinion that, if correct, may benefit Bush? Isn’t that right, you lying piece of shit?

> [@FinnAgain](#):
>
> Fallacy of Equivocation.
> People can honestly disagree on some things. On others, you’re just pulling things out of your ass and trying to get us to believe them. Like you’re doing here.

Fallacy of **Finnagain** Thinking He Knows What The Fuck He Is Talking About
Excuse me for wanting be somewhat polite to people I am debating with. And for the record, you might want to look up the fallacy you mention. It does not mean what you seem to think it means.

> [@FinnAgain](#):
>
> My point is that by the actions of fools like you, people get the idea that all/most Americans support Bush. You are trying to create a self fulfilling prophecy. But, again, you’re just pulling things out of your ass. The world’s citizens are not unaware of the fact that not all Americans support Bush. Your ignorant ‘opinions’ don’t change that _fact_, spunky.
>
> Good gods, what a fool you are. [I already made that point in post 34.](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=6979985&postcount=34) You were just too stupid to comprehend it. And you are evidently also too dense to realize that I was the first poster to make that point in this thread.

I see in review that you attempted to make that point in post #34, the one with the original “backpeddling” charge. You didn’t do it well. And you confused the issue by adding your “bootlickers” nonsense. The credit you are trying to take I’d say belongs tob **Left Hand of Dorkness** , who in post #53 made the point very well:

> [@Left Hand of Dorkness](#):
>
> There is a NEGATIVE link: that is, if you as an American go abroad, the worse you speak about Bush, generally the higher your audience’s opinion of Americans will rise.
>
> Speaking negatively about Bush indicates to foreigners that not all Americans support Bush. The sentiment against Bush outside of our country is extremely negative. Belafonte probably did a great deal to improve Venezuelan impressions of the United States by speaking his hyperbole about Bush, far more than Bush has ever done to improve Venezuelan attitudes toward the US.

I’ll chalk the above up as another indication that you are a dishonest piece of shit.

> [@FinnAgain](#):
>
> The fact remains, I’ve proved it many times. You’re either stupid or dishonest or willfully ignorant or a combination of the three. Your denial is patently absurd and even though I’ve already stated, several times, with quotes, exactly what your backpeddling is you still dishonestly refuse to admit it.

You have shown no such thing. You’ve repeated the same lie and then tried to put words in my mouth. Fuck you, you lying piece of shit.

> [@FinnAgain](#):
>
> Just how stupid are you? Do you think that your stupidity is somehow going to infect other people? You say that Bush is not beyond criticism, but that it’s irresponsible to criticize him… and then claim that it’s not a fact that you were caught backpeddling? Are you dumb enough to believe that yourself?

No, I said that Bush is not beyond criticism, but that it is inappropriate for an American to do so while in another country.

So, once again, we see that you try to twist my words in order that you can then find fault with them. Don’t you have a life? Don’t you have anything better to do with argue with things people DIDN"T say. You dishonest piece of shit.

> [@FinnAgain](#):
>
> Saying “He’s not beyond criticism… just don’t criticize him anywhere other than America.” is saying that he’s beyond criticism in a very large range of circumstances. That’s what us thinking folks like to call “backpeddling”.

Oh, seeking protection from the masses, eh? Who is backpedaling now, shithead? First you claim—incorrectly and dishonestly—the I was backpedaling, but now it’s just what you (oh, and the masses, who ALL agree with you) “like to call ‘backpedaling’”.

Could you provide a Venn diagram or something that shows where the actual definition of backpedaling overlaps with what “you like to call’backpedaling”? I’d like to see just how contorted your brain is, you lying piece of shit.

And so fucking what if it’s a “very large range of circumstances”? Oh, that’s right, anythiing that interferes with an opportunity to shit in Bush in_de facto_ horrible. Unbearably horrible. Never mind that compared to the opportunities that Americans have to criticize Bush while in the U.S., the number of opportunities missed while they are abroad is negligible. Not that it should matter, you dishonest piece of shit.

> [@FinnAgain](#):
>
> More backpeddling. Your quote was not about anything overseas, but about anything that could “[hurt] the country or it’s efforts in the process.”

Sheeze, you’re a lyiing piece of shit. As is evidenced by what I actually did say. Here it is (Bolding added for the truth impaired):

From my first post, #25:

> [@](#):
>
> Or are some of you fans of a notable American **going to countries, particulalrly those in turmoil** , and fanning the fans of the “America is Evil” chant?

From post #32:

> [@](#):
>
> No confusion. A simple acknowledgement of the fact that the former was elected to be the leader of the latter. And that they are tightly related, **especially in the eyes of those in other countries**.

From post #36:

> [@](#):
>
> Do you think that the masses **in other countries** are as clear on the distinction you make as you or most of the people on SDMB are?

From post #41:

> [@](#):
>
> I guess it’s impossible for someone to not be a Bush supporter and believe 1) that Bush and the U.S. are tightly linked, **especially overseas**. and 2) that an American citizen does not serve this country well **by going overseas and shitting on either the country OR the President**. (See 1)

From post #45:

> [@](#):
>
> Would you say that it is safe to say that there is a stronger link between the two **abroad** than here in the U.S.?

From, the same post your quote is from, #54:

> [@](#):
>
> Bush was clearly shit on. You may think those two are not closely related. I do. **especially overseas**.

From post #69:

> [@](#):
>
> A notable American **calling the President a terrorist overseas** is all fine and dandy. But a poster on a debate board who opines that such notables shold curb their tongue

From post #71:

> [@](#):
>
> This thread is about Bellafonte, **while in Venazuela** , speaking ill of Bush…

> [@](#):
>
> I’m asking if you (plural) are advocates of notable Americans **going overseas** and shitting on America.

And finally, from post #75:

> [@](#):
>
> You must be referring to my statement that there are times I think it inappropriate, like when a notable **American is overseas**. That is hardly the same thing. For instance, **if Bellafonte or you were here in the U.S.** and wanted to rail on Bush about his tax cuts or the Plame leak in the White House or Katrina or his Meyers nomination or his National Guard records or call him a terrorist, etc., knock yourself out.

As you can see, some of these come before the post you quoted, one comes from within the post you quotes, and the others come after the post you quoted. Nice job shithead.

That should suffice to show you for the lying, dishonest piece of shit that you are.

> [@FinnAgain](#):
>
> As your point was based on the fallacious belief that non-Americans are too stupid to tell the difference between Bush and 260 milliion Americans obviously any story which reaches them through the international press would be just as good as any other. Your absurd backpeddling to “overseas” is irrelevant as overseas audiences would hear the soundbytes no matter where they’re spoken.

Now you make a completely different point, one that well, is a point. Congratulations to you and the other 999 monkeys. I think, as it looks like the contributons of one or two of the monkeys was omited.

> [@FinnAgain](#):
>
> Riiiiiiiight. Your original slander about people encouraging or allowing people to ‘shit on America’ mentioned nothing about foreign or domestic statements. This is simply more backpeddling.

Have you absolutely NO pride? Well, of course you don’t. You are a pathological liar. But let’s prove it. Again. Here is my original post, in its entirety. It’s #25. Go check, shithead. (Again, bolding added for the truth impaired.)

> [@](#):
>
> First, no one is saying it’s the end of the Replubic. You blow that out of proportion while you seek to minimize Belafonte’s stature. You know damn well he is not just an ex-singer. He has embroiled himself in politics. He has become a spokesman for the hate America, or at least, the hate Bush crowd. This is not like you, Miller.
>
> I agree with the OP’s sentiments wholeheartedly. Not only do I think Belafonte is an asshole of the highest order, what he did was inappropriate. Or are some of you fans of a notable American going to countries, particulalrly those in turmoil, and fanning the fans of the “America is Evil” chant?
>
> Must you clowns always excuse, if not applaud, America being shit on?
>
> Just curious.

I hope that clears things up you lying piece of shit.

> [@FinnAgain](#):
>
> And seeing as how you’re a dishonest shill, I’m done with you. Let someone else bang their head against your Wall o’ Dumb.

There it is again, “shill”. I love it. You make me wish I voted for Bush.

I feel better now. Not only did I correct lies about me and what I’ve said, but I’ve done a bit of community service and shown others what a sick, lyiing piece of shit you are.

You know, **Finnagain** , I’ve seen some of your other posts, and I don’t think your stupid in the extreme, but that makes your crimes that much more egregious and unforgivable. Whenever you get into trouble, you try to keep on the heavy offence, so you won’t be revealed to be the liar that you are. You try to be a bully, but just wind up being an asshole who shouts that he is a lying piece of shit.

So, that is all, Liar. I will endeavor to avoid you, and other liars, in the future. As the exercise of revealing them for what they are is a bit satisfying, you are not worth my time a second round.

Now shuffle off to your mirror and see what someone who has been revealed to be a liar looks like.

I appreciate bothe the thinking in and the tenor of your post. You make some good points.

If you reread my posts (best done by skipping over) the lies I’ve addressed a couple of posts ago, you should get an accurate picture of my position. Do we have the right to criticize Bush? Yes. My poin is that I find it inappropriate—and that is the actual word I used—for someone, particularly a celebrity to criticize Bush, or America, in another country. I have no desire to erase the _right_ we have to do it, but I will speak out against the sense of it. I do understand the advantages, and they are real. But, I think the net effect is negative.

Yes, my apologies to my fellow Dopers, but I had many lies to deal with. I do prefer to post more of the person I’m responding to as to give what they’ve said a fair showing. I probably could have used fewer examples to prove that the shithead was lying, but he seemed to have trouble comprehending. Still, my apologies.

I do see your point. Non-Americans (especially those who wish to do do Americans harm) probably do think " Hey, this person’s also speaking out against America! Good for him! This inspires me to continue to do my very best against the evils of America!" I don’t deny that criticism of Bush will make those that hate American ideals and actions only more vociferous in their hatred. And I agree with you in that Bush is heavily associated with America - as I said before, he’s your representative, and to people across the world it translates as “ **All** Americans want this guy to be their leader”.

On the other hand, though, to others a person speaking out sends the message that “Not all Americans agree with Bush”. This should ( I believe) make people realise Bush does not have the backing of all Americans, and therefore all Americans should not be punished for the actions of Bush. Plus, people in tightly controlled regimes may think “Hey, wait…I can’t say this stuff about my leaders…wouldn’t it be great if I could? Maybe the American ideals aren’t all that bad.”.

I think that the slamming of Bush by Americans in other countries (be they celebrities or not) will have both negative and positive effects. I personally believe that the positives, combined with their right to express such opinions, will outweigh the negative. But this **is** all just speculation - you could be quite right.

I could. Or you could be quite right. I really don’t _know_. That’s why we call them opinions and not facts.

It’s nice dealing with the sane.

No, he eventually yields the floor, but that was a brutally long post. Worthy of Ted Kennedy for shear boredom inducement. But he did apologize for it and it is easy to page past.

I hate Bush. I mean I can’t stand the guy (but I don’t call him a terrorist).

The thing is I, that this in no way improves my opinion of Chavez. There is no love one hate the other requirement. Belefonte’s endorsement of him will not go down as his finest moment.

That said, he probably is right in saying millions of Americans support Chavez. 1% of the population would be millions. Wow. It would be hard to find anything that’s not supported by millions of Americans.

Tell that to Tatum O’Neal.

Er, assuming one happened to watch “Dancing with the Stars” tonight, that is.
