woooo. I can’t wait. I think Amazon is offering it for 50% off, but I don’t think I will want to wait for the shipping, I will just pick it up at the store that weekend. So, do you guys think this is planned? The one year there isn’t a Harry Potter Movie there is a Harry Potter book? I don’t mind. God. The last book needed a thoroughly good scything down by editors. This one will need a combine harvester. Still, it will make for a couple of extra hours of escapism, even if not such enjoyable and frustration-free escapism as with the first three books. ---

the huge delay is supposedly because of the editors. It was probably 5000 pages long in rough draft form ---

Last time, Amazon took pre-orders, and FedExed them _the day before the release!!!_, so the book arrived on doorsteps on the day of the release. It was great. I hope they offer the same service again - I’ll definitely use it. ---

Incidentally, I read in the local paper’s version of this article that hours after the announcement, it went to the top of [Amazon.com](http://Amazon.com)’s best-seller list, based just on preorders. Wow. ---

Mugglenet has noted a horrible, though purely speculative, possibility about that last quoted passage: “Dumbledore lowered his hands and surveyed Harry through his half-moon glasses. ‘It is time,’ he said ‘for me to tell you what I should have told you five years ago, Harry. Please sit down. I am going to tell you everything.’” Now, what if those are the last words of the book! ---

Well, that _would_ be horrible, pf course, but I wouldn’t worry too much about it. I can’t see Rowling _not_ ending a book with the return trip aboard the Hogwarts Express. Still, I think I’ll check out the last page first, all the same. ---

Same here Lezaza, Amazon UK is great at delivering to SE tho. We are buying two copies so we can read them at the same time, we will then give away the hardcopies to friends and buy the paper-back as a keeper when it comes out 🙂 ---
