Of course I have. You don’t think _Harry Potter and the Adorable Kittens with Lollipops Clutched Cutely in Their Tiny Paws_ would be an appropriate title for Book Seven, given the increasingly happy and devil-may-care tone of the previous few?

Or are you more into gold-y and bronze-y? 😛

Has anyone tried the steps that **Revenant Threshhold** copied from Mugglenet? I’m stuck on step # 5…

The US version didn’t work for me either. Go back to the beginning and choose the UK version. That works.

If you see 2 potion vials on the table, it will work.

Is anyone else having trouble with JK Rowling’s website? In the “?” area, I figured out how to get the door open but I can’t get the game to work. Is anyone else having trouble?

Supposedly, you can deduce the title for Book Seven through this game. Hence the spoiler warning on this thread.
So how do you get the door to open? Is this one of those things where you have to just watch the screen for fifteen minutes until a little key appears that you can grab and stick into the lock? Or do I click on those bottles of potion sixty times until they break, or what?

As the mother of a baby born at 37 weeks - it don’t work that way. You were concieved “around” your mother’s birthday. Unless your parent’s sex life was more limited than average at the time - she probably isn’t sure exactly when you were concieved.

I clicked a big headline link on MSN’s homepage about the game. It gave the steps on how to work the game and how you had to do this and that, blah blah blah what a fun game. So I am thinking, this sounds kind of fun, I will go and play the game to see the title. Then I read the end of the article, where it wraps up:

"Or you can just go by scholastic’s website, which says the title is NAME OF FINAL BOOK. Ok, thanks for that then, I guess now I know the title anyway! :smack:

It was a rough and good-humored paraphrase of a classic comedy exchange. To wit:

Blackadder: Baldrick, have you no idea what irony is?
Baldrick: Yeah, it’s like gold-y and bronze-y, only it’s made of iron.
What does hallow/hallows mean as a noun?
Well, from the OED:

1. A saint, a god of the heathens, or something belonging thereto (like a relic);
2. A loud shout or cry, to get dogs to chase, or to draw attention;
3. The parts of a hare given to hounds as a reward or encouragement after a chase.

Personally, I’m hoping for #3.

Oh, I rather like #2, though #1 is probably going to be the most fitting, what with the horcruxes and all. I could see how all of them could be fitting in this last book:

1. The horcruxes are relics of the founders of Hogwarts. I’m going to go so far as to say that these wizards and witches are the closest things that the magical world has to saints; they are at least very highly venerated. The journey to these items isn’t going to be a walk in the park and has already resulted in at least one death.

2. Harry, The Order of the Phoenix, et al have definitely been beckoned by Voldemort’s actions, and the attention of the magical world has at last been summoned. I can’t see happenings in the last book not summoning more action from the heroes.

3. It’s conceivable that the Death Eaters have been rewarded with items belonging to those who have fallen, i.e. martyred, or even just advancement in the ranks. It seems fitting to compare the Death Eaters to hunting dogs, with Voldemort as their master.

Assuming my assumptions about what’s going to go down in the last book are correct.

Are we even sure this is the title? Back in the eighties when the rage was Star Wars , word got out that the title of the much anticipated third movie of the original 3 would be REVENGE OF THE JEDI. Some promos came out with this on it–But, of course the movie hit the screens as RETURN OF THE JEDI. The explanation was that REVENGE had been the WORKING TITLE !!

My first idea was almost certainly wrong (on J. K. Rowling’s website she mentions a dream she had recently of Harry Potter searching for horcruxes in the great hall of Hogwarts, and so I thought that the Hallows would be the Hallowed Halls of learning, but now after reading this thread I am leaning towards asterion’s definition 1 with Miss Purl McKnittington’s explanation.
