He was found guilty of a 1st degree crime. That’s a big win. The other more serious charge of predatory sexual assault looked like it was always a long shot. I’ve worked many of these cases but not in New York. Looking over the statute it seems like it would be a very difficult charge to prove beyond a reasonable doubt years after the incident. I’m betting the prosecutors are very happy with the outcome. ---

Zero. Trump might _try_ to pardon him, but he has no authority over the New York criminal justice system. ---

The president only has powers to pardon those convicted of federal crimes to include military courts. Cosby was convicted in Pennsylvania on state charges. Weinstein was convicted in New York on state charges. Weinstein also has cases pending in California. Speaking of Cosby his spokesman came out in support of Weinstein saying the court case was a sham. Harvey is in prison thinking “you’re not helping.” ---

Imo he is at the same level as a pedophile. He had absolute power over so many women and he used it to abuse them. And sadly while he is being punished for a few of his crimes he will skate on most of them. Street justice might be appropriate here. ---
