I liked it okay, as much as I “like” any commercial that isn’t amazingly clever. But I saw it more as a subversion of the whole “Guy hits on woman using product as opening” commercial trope than “HEY! LOOK! GAY!!” It really only could have worked if he was gay. If he had said “Oh, my wife is at the bar too” he’d just sound like he was trying to score some on the side. ---

I’m happy to have as many positive portrayals of same-sex couples on T.V. as possible, and I don’t really care if they’re subtle or not. ---

An ad just showing the two guys holding hands or kissing would not have been able to express the idea that they are married. I’m looking forward to new Jared ads capitalizing on gay people needing diamond engagement rings. ---
