> Yeah, I’ve seen the 78 version. It’s garbage.

See, that’s the problem right there. It wasn’t a 78, it was a 33 1⁄3. Of course things are garbage when they’re all sped up like that.

> Yes…I realise that it’s a movie, but that was a big plot hole to me.

There’s no plot hole. In both versions of the movie they tried to kill her. In the original they were going to stab her in the heart, and in the remake they were going to shoot her.

I saw the original, don’t remember too much except some of the “creative” revenge scenes.

I tried to watch the remake and turned of the DVD about halfway thru. The pacing was too slow and I found I really didn’t care what happened to any of the characters.

I started to watch, quickly got bored and started fast forwarding through the movie, seeing maybe 10% of the rape scene (I’m guessing; each time I stopped she was still getting chased/harassed/raped) and the last 15 (?) minutes starting with her having already captured rapists 1 & 2 and torturing them. I’ve no idea how she caught them but, judging from her next two, all it takes is getting close enough to whang someone with a tire iron. The final three revenge cases were pretty unimaginative compared to the first two which at least had that going for them.

Needless to say, I didn’t leave the film feeling especially enriched.

That’s a little like complaining that a Three Stooges film is lacking in dignity…
