At the point that I lost count several years ago, there were already five Doper babies, i.e., babies who were only born because their parents met on the SDMB. ---

One of the first threads I remember reading was one started by a guy who was announcing his outrage and sense of betrayal that a fellow doper had had sex with his wife during a dope fest. IIRC, there were two posts in that thread: The OP followed by the sound of a Moderator slamming the door on it. I don’t remember any names and wouldn’t mention them if I did and I don’t know things turned out for the three people involved but I would guess at least one of them was not at all happy. Maybe some long time dopers will recall the incident. I often wish there was a matrix of couples of the SDMB. Maybe there is but I don’t know about it. ---

These Dopefests are interesting… I could stand to hear more. Is there a Dopestories thread? I would search for it, but 5 minute gaps in searching make that somewhat difficult. ---

As **Agent Foxtrot** already noted, he and I had a year-long hookup that started here on the Dope. I’ve been to a few Dopefests, and so far no orgies have broken out. I do believe someone was giving me the eye at the NYC DopeDinner, though. ---

On an only somewhat related note, does anyone have any theories as to the cause of the demise of Dopefests? I know there is still the GettysDope, but I don’t know of any others that still occur. I recall the SF Bay Area Dopers had a pretty regular thing, and I remember reading about a regular lunch thing in Chicago proper…? Did Pay-to-Post kill Dopefests? (or was it my SacramenDope fest?)
