Yep. Haven’t been to a fest since Dope the Halls in '04 or '5 and they were pretty calm. **Jonathan Chance’s** Halloween parties were another story though. Fond memories. ---

I’ve thought about going to a Dopefest once, but doesn’t it feel sort of weird to see real people in place of words? I mean, does it feel like a group blind date? Do people ever try to dress like their dope name? ---

Saying that I’ve been meeting people of internet talkboards in one form or another for about seven years so it’s a bit old hat to me. I say try it some time, if you don’t enjoy it you can make your excuses, leave, and not go again. ---

Once you get past the initial awkwardness (and sometimes revulsion 🙂 ) it can be quite a bit of fun. I ended up housing 7 or 8 people for the last big one in NYC in, holy crap, 2002 or so. We had a blast. ---
