# Has anyone had allergen immunotherapy (allergy shots?)

Yeah, loratdine (a.k.a. “Claritin”) is pretty mediocre as an allergy treatment, but allergy shots improved my allergies sufficiently that most days it’s all I need. I like not feeling drowsy AND not being all allergic.

Also, the FAA permits me to fly while taking loratidine. It _does not_ permit flying while using almost anything else, including Zyrtec.

It should be noted that **Broomstick** is training to be a pilot (I think!) and that tidbit does not apply to the rest of us who simply are passengers 😛

Actually, I’ve _been_ a licensed pilot for quite a few years now… but yes, that is an important clarification.
