He made it very clear that _he_ doesn’t see it as derogatory. And that’s bullshit - the word is derogatory, whether one American thinks it should be or no.

Or do you also stand up for the right to freely say “kike” and “nigger” without social consequences?

Don’t put words in my mouth or assume you know my hypothetical ulterior motives.

You sound like you believe you could convince people that two and two make six.

You read the thread and still don’t see that it’s a derogative term? Then you really can’t be helped.

Btw., is “Buster” derogative? I really don’t know (and to be true, don’t care really).

If that’s what you think of the First Amendment, I’m glad you’re not in this country, whose people have fought and died for such freedoms.

If the First Amendement stood for the right to denigrate and ridicule ethnic groups, I’d be glad not to be in your country. But I know that it doesn’t.

**Moderator Instructions**

Yes, the word “Hottentot” is generally considered derogatory. If you want to discuss this, open another thread in Great Debates. This discussion has become a hijack in this thread.

This goes for everyone. Let’s drop the discussion of the word Hottentot here.
