Something I read one time that still makes me chuckle: shaving your head when you’re going bald is the equivalent of “you can’t fire me! I quit!”.
Electrolysis for permanent beard removal is an option, although it’s expensive, time-consuming, and apparently doesn’t feel very good. Not many men take that option.
Or if it’s dark enough, laser hair removal. Both are popular with trans women.
This, very much this. I’m the Pintel to Shakester’s Ragetti (that is, the fat one), and while I’ve never shaved my head, I have experimented with buzz cuts. In my case, the result is less “cancer patient” and more “Would get ‘88’ and lightning-bolt SS tats, but mother would make him move out of the basement”. Far more authentic to merely acknowledge and accept my large bald spot, rather than cover it with a toupee or shave off all my remaining hair. I simply describe my hair as multi-colored - bit of brown, bit of gray, bit of pink.
